Leave the beach for once and enjoy the peace and quiet of plants and flowers, not to mention the giant palm trees. Take water and enjoy tea and cake in La Bicyclette café. You can get there on the Metro bus, no need to take an expensive excursion but you'll need cash for the ticket - 10r

Great examples of various trees and plants from this part of the world. Great calming and quiet walks situated amidst the hustle and bustle of a large urban area. To fully enjoy it, you'll need at least two hours and your camera.

See a little piece of the rainforest and a lot of non native plants. Lacks of information and infrastructure.

Very nice place to visit, we've been there: me and three friends, and this place is awesome. A minor problem was that not everything is doubled in English and the same problem for personnel—as it is usual in Brazil. But plants are extremely beautiful, as well as the garden itself.

Nice for pictures, a quiet place with a lot of trees and small wild animals. Few short tracks. It is a wonderfull place to relax.

Special place with beautiful places to rest, to take pictures, to play. But the infrastructure is not so good in terms of place to eat and things. Even so, you can find it around. You need to pay to entry and also to parking, but it works and a very aligned price. Go early!

This place is one of the big things D João the 6th made in Brasil Walking through the many alleys and letting your mind travel with time is magical! Besides, you will get to know many species of Brazilian plants!

Spent a long morning here and arrived before the sun was at it's full strength thankfully. Stunning gardens that are maintained meticulously. Not everyone's idea of a place to visit in Rio, but if you have time try and fit it in!
