From the start, when I made contact with Vitor, to the end when I was landing on the beach Barra Da Tijuca everything was great. They did everything that they said they will. Pick up was on time, driver Maurisio is great! Instructors Caravllo and Wolf are the BEST!!! Thank you guys for everything!!!
For everyone who would like to do this kind of sport, I say don't hesitate!!! This guys know what they are doing. They are very pleasent and friendly and at the end you will feel amasing as I'm.
Once again, thank you guys, you make my dream come true!

Hang gliding....Seriously, a don't miss attraction in Rio. I felt so safe and in great hands. The pilots were very nice especially my pilot, Paulao, who knew english and was really fun. What a great experience!!

After several days of being gluttons and lying around on the beach, we were looking for an activity that actually burned calories. Hoping to see Rio from a different perspective and apart from the more conventional tours clogging up all of the main city sites, we signed-up for the Sugarloaf hike with Rio Extreme.

The RioExtreme website was easy to navigate, even in English; the reservation was straightforward to make and payment processed via PayPal (250 Reals/person). Instructions were sent shortly thereafter regarding what to wear, what to expect, etc. The only thing to note was that there was an additional charge for pick-ups outside the Zona Sul (60 Reals/return).

We lucked out and had a tour/tour guide all to ourselves as we started later than planned - RioExtreme was very accommodating about our need to start at 09:00 rather than 07:00, but it’s definitely advisable to start as early as possible. The heat on the peak was pretty intense late morning/early afternoon and we went in winter! The hike was challenging but manageable for anyone in decent shape. The standout feature of the trip was the “climb” up a third-grade rock face. For the two of us with next to no rock-climbing experience, this was a pretty formidable experience, especially with the ocean waves crashing over rocks not that far below. Our guide Weber (so great!) was incredibly patient as we slowly made our way up and the total hiking time took around 4 hours 45 minutes. Given how much needs to be coordinated during the hike though - i.e. equipment set-up, breaks, this tour probably works best with a smaller sized group.

Overall, it was a great experience and pretty decent cost-wise in terms of value. Be sure to pack lightly, wear quality shoes, apply sunscreen, bring water and small snacks, wear a hat…and apparently there are poisonous snakes on Sugarloaf but we didn’t see any. :)

My experience using Rioxtreme was excellent. They picked us up at the hotel and brought us to the site. Everything was explained on perfect English and I felt extremely safe. The hangliding was awesome and was a once in a lifetime experience. It was about $240 US for the jump, the license to jump and round trip transportation. It was worth every penny. Don't think about it, just do it! You will have a great time.

We did two tours with Rio Xtreme and we had great time !

1. Biking tour in Tijuaca Forest
2. Hiking tour of Urca Hill

Pros:
* Our Guide spoke english, was professional and was local to Rio
* Guide arrived at the hotel on time and made us feel comfortable without rushing or looking at time.
* Transport to and from hotel for these tours.
* Our guide was patient and very friendly and he showed us good time.
* I would want to go there again and take other tours with them.

Cons:
* Rio Xtreme might be little slow in communicating but e-mail is the best way to communicate w them.
* I find them little expensive but again I can't really compare them with any other agency.
* Difficulty level of these tours should be described at length. It will help toursits understand the tour better.

My wife and I were picked up at the promised time of 7:30 am from our hotel by our guide Raul. It's wise to start early to hike in not so hot weather and to avoid the crowds on the hill and the cycle traffic on the road. About 90% of the hike is in the shady and cooler jungle forest and10% is at the top in the more open areas. The very last part of the trail involves climbing the steps in the granite. The views from the top are spectacular but smog and heat haze can obstruct the scenery. It was one hour up and one hour down. We are on our late 60's and we didn't have any problems with the climb. Raul was an excellent guide for us. Vitor, who runs the company,is an excellent communicator. My opinion is that this a professionally managed company. Just DO this hike!

First thing first, the attention though email was excellent by Victor, and then it came the day of the hike with Denis Duda as the guide, even if there was a little bit of rain at the top and the view was hurt by low clouds, it was a very positive experience, physical and secure. I would do it all over again with a clear weather. Worth the money, yes.

our group went on a day trip, it was very nice, saw everything we needed to see and had a lot of fun doing it, would suggest small snacks and water for the trip, it is a long and busy day before Lunch.

After paragliding with RioXtreme and having pictures taken by my guide, I proceeded to lose them when my phone got wet later in the day! The next day RioXtreme reached out to me inquiring about how we liked the experience. When I mentioned how much I loved it, but unfortunately lost my photos, RioXtreme was able to contact the guide and recover my pics! On my next trip I'll try hang gliding. An absolutely gorgeous location! We also did the Morro Dois Irmaos hiking tour. The guide was stupendous and the views were truly sublime.

this is a hike not to be missed if you visit Rio, are in decent shape, and enjoy hiking. There is a small section where you SHOULD be using ropes and rock climbing equipment - and RioXtreme will take care of you all the way - Rafael was a fabulous guide and we had an amazing time hiking - the views are breathtaking all along the way - not just at the top - and at the top you get one of those jaw dropping photos! Thanks Rafael and Rio Extreme for an amazing day!
