I stayed near here. Far better than Copacabana. Well looked after and plenty of bars for drinks along the front. We cycled it one day and it was lovely. I walked along the beach every day I enjoyed it that much

Less crowds, cheaper, whiter sand... What's not to love? I guess the long metro ride from Copacabana isn't very nice, but at least it's easy to get there. There are kiteaurfing schools here. No beach volleyball... At least not as much as on the main...More

Stayed for 4 days nearby and went to the beach everyday. Its one of the nicest in Rio, not that far from the more famous Copacabana/Ipanema beaches. During the week its really quiet and not many people go there, during weekends it gets more people...More

The beach is really nice nad wasn't too crowded and one can run along the paved work ways. I also loved the fact that they have outdoor gyms along the beach. Which makes it easy to work out while on holiday

Barra da Tijuca is not only the beach, but a new way of life in Rio de Janeiro. Many Malls, Restaurants, and all sort of amusements in the beach.

The beach starting the street number 2300 up to 5600 is on some days turquoise transparent, able to see your feet even when the water reaches your chest. Be aware of possible currents which are indicated via flags placed by the beach lifeguards. On stormy...More

It's a beautiful large sandy beach where many people relaxed and swam. It was clean and inviting. We were there in February at the end of carnival.
