Home of Botafogo Futebol e Regatas, Nilton Santos stadium is by far the best stadium in the city, easy access by train, taxi and car with many options around for food and drinks. Highly recommend check Botafogo site for tickets and experience one of the best atmosphere in Rio with their supporters making incredible party during the matches. A must visit!

There is a station right at the stadium which makes getting there easy enough. There are plenty of bars and food stands in the stadium itself. The atmosphere was great. We left the gig a little early to avoid the madness afterwards and glad we did.

This stadium held the Athletics during Rio 2016 Summer Games. It is very nice inside and Bolt won his last three golden medals here. It usually have soccer games (not the most important), but it can be a good alternative in case there is no games in Maracanã. It is vey interesting. The bad side of this is that the surroundings are not as good as other stadiums. The streets are narrow and it maybe difficult to get public transport pther than trains.

A very nice modern stadium, vry comfortable considering. The location however is horrible, very difficult to get there, and extremely expensive parking if your in a car.

Hard to reach and in a very bad neighborhood. When we were ready to leave (a bit before the end of the soccer game) the stadium guards advised us against leaving by any gate except the main gate because of the young men standing around outside waiting to accost and rob unsuspecting attendees. I was with two big men and we were actually scared.

Never visited Brasil just in TV. But this is my team even though I am 100% mexican. I like the jogo bonito! Viva the king of soccer.

We simply had to catch a game whilst in Brazil and the only possibility was a local derby between Botafogo and Flamengo.

Great atmosphere and amazing experience. Getting tickets was difficult, we had to run around botafogo a bit asking for directions from the club shop, which apparently do not sell tickets. Tickets are purchased from a tiny hole in the wall just round the corner. The tickets were £2 each!

Arrived by train which was on time. Platform was clean and easy walking to the stadium. Toilets were inside the entry area so be prepared for a wait. When inside the stadium grounds are spacious and tidy. Seating was ok however I found the seat backs a bit too flexible. Ample space between people. Good rake which meant that you could see the field. Easy exit due to space in the corridors and ramps. Will be a great venue.

This stadium hosted athletics during the Rio 2016 Games. I visited on three separate occasions, sitting in different areas each time and the views were all great. It is easy to get to using the metro and train, however the surrounding area is not great.

THis stadium is shut down for structural work. And has been for about two years. Incredibly, the stadium built in 2007 has already presented serious structural compromise. And it is supposed to be the opening venue for the Olympics one year from now.
