Escadaria Selaron was made famous by Snoop Dogg and Pharell William's music video and has become one of Rio's most visited tourist attractions. The stairs provide a beautifully colourful background for taking pictures. I preferred visiting the stairs in the evenings when there weren't a...More

We were able to go the the steps as part of a day trip and really glad we did. It reminded me of the Gaudi decorations in Barcelona. No fees so another free attraction.

A wonderful reminder of how a one man's need for a place to stay has transformed into a work of art and finally ended as his tribute to the Brazilian people. Worth taking a walk up and down the stairs. excellent tile work depicting all...More

Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local
artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this
neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors
can now stroll through this area to view magnificent
mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th
century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a
former mansion turned museum which houses works by
prominent Brazilian modern artists.
