A real experience, knowing the history of the steps makes the visit extra special, these are quite long and steep and do get busy. Its best to walk up and down to get the total feeling of the steps. Lots of different tiles from all...More

If you are going to Rio you must see the Escadaria Selaron tiled stair in Lapa. There are also a lot of eateries and shops in the area to wonder around.

Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local
artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this
neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors
can now stroll through this area to view magnificent
mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th
century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a
former mansion turned museum which houses works by
prominent Brazilian modern artists.

It will cost you but take a taxi. It isn't in the safest neighborhood and there are not signs to get there.
