The Tour was fantastic! Tito, the guide was very very good. He was funny and he made the tour very interesting.  Also found it very good that we were a few, that way I enjoy hiking more.

The hike was absolutely beautiful, as taken from a storybook, and it was a wide range of various nature scenarios. The difficult level was good With a combo of some harder leg work and some nicer strolling. BUT this was so much more than a hike because the tour guide Tiago gave us a lot of background and history, giving the tour a depth I had not counted on. I absolutely love it and would do all my tours with them.

My boyfriend and I planned a trip to Rio and decided to book a tour with Jungle Me. We were extremely interested in exploring Tijuca Forest however, we didn’t want to go alone since it is such a large area and we both are not fluent in Portuguese. Aline was our tour guide for the day. She picked us up just a few minutes after the pick up time. Immediately when we met her she was extremely friendly and eager to be our guide. Her English was great!! When she picked us up she explained what the plan was (first stop to grab snacks for the tour). We went to a local supermarket, probably the nicest supermarket I’ve seen our entire time in Rio, and we really appreciated the stop because we didn’t have a lot of snacks/water for the tour. It was extremely nice of her to help us be prepared. Then we went to Tijuca. During the drive there she pointed some cool stuff out and gave us some history. Once we parked the car and started our hike she began with giving us some geography/history information. This helped us understand more about the history of the forest and Rio. The entire hike was amazing! Aline stopped to show us different tree’s native to Brazil and others brought over by the Portuguese. The day of the hike it was extremely hot. Aline was kind of enough to go a little slower to accommodate us. We both really appreciated that since we were not used to the intense heat. At the end of the tour we got to swim in natural pool made by a waterfall which you see right when the tour starts. It hands down is one of the most amazing views on the tour. Throughout the tour we were able to eat our lunch and cool down at multiple points. Once the hike was done, Aline gave us a ride back to our pick up location. Overall great experience!! I just wish it wasn’t so hot. Aline made the tour phenomenal and I don’t know if we would have enjoyed it as much if it weren’t for her friendly/welcoming attitude and the passion she has for her job. If you do not like being sweaty or being in nature this may not be the tour for you. If those two things do not bother you then you should 100% do this tour and if you can request Aline we 1000% recommend her!

What an incredible experience with Jungle Me! My friend and I ended up with a private tour and it was easily the highlight of our time in Rio. Roberto and Tito started off the morning with a top level history of Brazil, which was both informative and accessible. Then, as we climbed, our conversation turned to the happenings in our respective countries (Australia and the US) and how those related to Brazil. It was really interesting to see where they agreed and disagreed, and the whole conversation was in good faith. It wasn't all heavy topics though-- we also covered our plans for Carnival (with some helpful recommendations) and the wildlife both in Brazil and Australia! The views at the summit of the hike were absolutely astonishing, and the entire experience felt like getting a slice of actual interaction with locals versus the numerous tourist traps around the city. 10/10, you should book this tour without question.
