It is quite a construction. But, unless there is some exhibition, it is an empty space with poor maintenance. Lacks some panel telling the history of the place and why it was built. It was an historical site due to the liberation of slaves of...More

I was disappointed to see this glass shell, almost abandoned, in the middle of town. If only there had been a year-long display of orchids or some tropical plants of which there is an abundance here. I understand that it is sometimes used as a...More

Crystal Palace is an exhibition place built in 1884, similar to others existing in Europe. Nowadays is used only for special historic events but is opened for visitation.

The palace is just a building of the imperial period of Brazil. Important more for the history of the city than for any special "must see" . In the city of Petropolis the Imperial Museum is worth visiting and this Palace is a small attraction,...More

Cool to take photos but it seems like an abandoned place. It doesn't live up to the expectations. A 5-minute visit is enough

This greenhouse was a gift to Princess Isabel from her French husband. It is nicely placed in a small park. Must be a great venue for a reception or party, but for a tourist a slow drive-by would be enough.

nice construction with an interesting story. I enjoyed the ambiance and the garden more than the palace, I think a visit during the evening will give a better impression

Back in the day this must’ve been amazing!Originally as a gift to the princess to grow her plants the palace today has some musicians playing from time to time, little shops selling their (mostly) handmade products. It’s nice but not much to it today, maybe...More

Well, it`s a big garden with this small palace inside. Free entrance. A gift Princess Isabel received from her husband, Cond D'eu. Normally there is nothing there to see and 5 minutes is more than enough time to spend there. But this place can receive...More

Could be more interesting if some events happen inside because the Palace itself its a great background...interesting architecture and great green surroundings, but nothing astonishing... you could take an ice cream or refreshement, and seat at one of the outside benches and enjoy the view...More
