This is a great area of Paraty. You can walk here in 15 minutes from the historic centre - it's up an over a hill though so perhaps take a cab if you find walking difficult. This is a beach area where all kinds of...More

We loved Paraty so much we stayed an extra 2 days. Paraty is blessed with so many beautiful beaches with clear water and immaculate sand. However, Jabaquara beach is the exception. Unfortunately the river flows into the sea at one end of the beach so...More
This beach, it's so just okay. It's handy to the city, but the water never feels super clean or refreshing. Usually pretty shallow and super muddy in some spots. It's nice that there is kayaks and SUP to rent there and some Nice little bars...More
This quiet beach has calm waters and no waves. It's great for children and the elderly. There are several restaurants and snack bars on the beach and many pousadas to choose from. It's about 2 km. from the very busy center of town..
Close to Paraty but affected by the tides so shallow Nice to relax, sunbake & dip your feet but not really to swim
Good beach close to Paraty center so best if you are unwilling to travel very far. The water is very warm, almost too warm. Great beach bars here too.

The beach at Jabaquara isn't anything spectacular, but the water is quite warm. The only downside to the water is the presence of floating brown chunks of mud that ominously appears like sewage. Otherwise the beach is a nice sunbathing spot.
