We went on a day where the weather wasn’t great, but still had so much fun here. Watching a local boy slide down the waterfall was crazy but amazing, and the staff here are great too. Wonderful atmosphere and good fun

A short car ride from Paraty is an amazing waterfall which you can slide down on your back or with a lot of practice your feet.
A shirt way above it as a lovely natural pool where you can safely swim in fresh refreshing water.
There is a restaurant as well for food and drinks.
Great little spot to visit....after the visit there is a Cachasa distillery where you can taste different drinks and buy what you like.

A 30 minute bus ride out of Paraty is this nice little natural attraction. A short walk through the forest gets you there and it's well worth the trip. A"waterfall" runs down a smooth rock face to form a natural waterslide, scary at first but great fun as you splash down into the pond at the bottom. Just don't wear white shorts as the bottom of them will turn a nice greenish brown colour after a few rides. A tip for those of you that wish to try the slide is to watch for a while before going. You could gain a lot of speed going down and the pond have a big boulder strategically placed to stop people from swooshing too far...
If you get tired of sliding you can have a shower in one of the smaller waterfalls, splash around in the natural pools or dare yourself to jump from the 10 meter cliff into the water a little upstream. All great fun.
If you feel hungry during your visit there's a restaurant on the far side of the stream. For the daring you cross on a bridge suspended by wires across, but for the faint of heart you can actually just walk across the stream. Food is reasonably priced and the fish we had was great. The service wasn't that great, but as we arrived to eat at the same time as a rather large group of people it could probably be better when they're not as busy. Foodwise it was good quality for money at least.
In short I'd say that it's well worth taking the time for visiting this spot. The surroundings are stunning with the beautiful forest dotted with little waterfalls all around. Buses go past from Paraty at regular intervals and there's also these privately owned minibuses that runs as shuttles at any given time. Quite cheap as well. I recommend it to anyone, you won't regret it.

Take your car... drive along a scenery road ... walk on trails ... and have fun!!!

But dress properly, insect repellent is mandatory, have dry clothes if you get wet, towel, shoes for mud...

And have fun!!!

Definitely worth the visit.... A quick walk down from Tarzan Waterfalls. The Brazillians surf down the waterfalls on their feet and it is spectacular. They are also very helpful and assist everyone to slide down the falls

We went on the waterfall/jungle tour with Jango Tours and the Toboga was one of our stops on the day. The surfers at this spot are insane, blindfolding themselves with leaves while flipping and sliding down the rocks on their feet! It is an amazing natural formation that is loads of fun to slide down a few times into the natural, cool pool. Don't miss the chance to do this if you're in the area.

We loved visiting Toboga Falls, you can definately spend a few hours there or a full day of the weather is nice. We caught a local bus from the bus station in Paratay, it cost 4.5 reals each one way (so cheap) and after 20mins we arrived at Toboga Falls. You can swim, sit under waterfalls, wade in rock pools, cliff jump and try the natural waterslide which was really fun. Or you can choose to lay about on the rocks in the sun which is also nice. There is a great restaurant across the road near the distillery which offers a buffet lunch where you can pay by weight which we did and it was so cheap! Highly recommend, we paid 30 reals for two people versus what the cafe in Toboga was offering which was about 70 reals or more! It’s easy to find your way there and back. We loved it!

The falls in themselves are not spectacular but you can slide on the bottom part for the thrill or go up the trail to swim in a pool. Then, head to the delicious Tarzan restaurant for drinks or food.

If you have a day to kill in Paraty add this to your list. It's only a 20-25 minute bus ride from the town bus station. Just jump on a bus that is going to Penha. It will cost you around R$3,50. Then get off at Toboga Falls. If you're not sure just ask a local or remember after about 20 minutes in to your trip you'll cross a wooden bridge and the take a winding right hand turn up a hill and you're there. If you're not sure about the safety factor it's all good. They're are a couple of locals that help people slide and they have a tip box set up at the top and bottom if you feel generous. These guys put on a good show. There's heaps of places to sit around and have a picnic or beer. When you're ready to leave if you go back to the bus stop and see a white van come along going to Paraty you can jump on this for only R$3,00 instead of waiting for the bigger bus. I think between 1:30pm to 3:30pm there are no bigger buses on the white mini van type.

I went there by organized tour (60 s together with a boat) but you can get here by a bus or minivan. It is just 20 – 30 minutes. Get off at Penha, white church.

You are like in the middle of jungle. The locals really surf on the fall you can do the same if you want to have your skull redesigned. The locals have really good technique I am sure you will find some to showing off. So just sit and have a great slide and splash into the natural cold water. Also be cautious with your belongings as I witnessed some theft here and at the nearby Tarzan waterfall where is also a bar to have some snack.
