I always wanted to try Standup Paddleboarding, and had a great lesson with Michael at Paraty Explorer. It was easy to make the arrangements, the water in the bay at Jabaquera is calm and tranquil - perfect for learning SUP. Michael is a patient teacher and the class is good value. A shame I'd booked to leave Paraty or I... More

The Nature is simply amazing! First we were kayaking through the mangrove forest and it was amazing to see pure nature so close. After that, we visited few beaches, no people there. Guide is really nice, kayaking is easy! I highly recommend!

We did a great hiking trip to a small fishing village and slept there 2 nights. Everything was perfectly organized and the wonderful nature made this an unforgettable trip. Thanks Michael!

Michael was wonderful in helping us set up a self-guided trip. We rented the tandem kayak through him. He also help us plan the route and obtain reservations at Happy Hammock Hostel and a campground. He provided maps and lots of supporting information for our trip. We also stayed before and after our trip in one of the rooms at... More

As a solo (female) traveler I was really happy to join Paraty Explorer for some company and to make sure not to get lost or in trouble. I joined the Mamangua Sugarloaf peak hike and a half day of kayaking. Michael and Rodrigo were great company, took good care of me and it was really nice to be able to... More

Most important thing you need to know about Paraty Explorer: Michael and Rodrigo's humanity and knowledge of each adventure. I did everything with them: kayaking, hiking Mamangua, and visited and learned about agro-forestry with the most humble soul Ze, Joseph Ferreria Eco-Farm Brazil. Rodrigo rocks, we built a friendship instantaneously. Michael was extremely patient with my over emailing of questions,... More

Michael was a excellent instructor, very patient and accommodating of our slow initial progress out to sea! A fantastic and very peaceful alternative to the classic island-hopping boat tours that most tourists in Paraty undertake. You don't need to be overly fit, but it is obviously a manual effort to move the kayaks across the water so do expect a... More

Michael was really accommodating in enabling me to take in some stand up paddleboarding by opening up his shop especially for me. I was met by the lovely Rodrigo who had my board all ready to go and gave me tips on where to go and check out. Totally made my day!

Really fun day with beautiful views. Quite physical, but enjoyable. Preparation was minimal and Michael was very helpful.
