the view is amazing, and the hike is very very nice. It feld a bit like a sort if hot yoga. Because the temerature is really high, u sweat like crazy. But it is only one hour hike. So nothing to crazy. some tuff stepps up, but nothing out of this world. A must do, when there.

Fantastic. We had no idea what awaited us at the first stage and the top and had made plans to join a tour later in the day so we ended up a bit rushed. There was street food, music, shops, drinks, all over the place at Morro da Urca (first stop) then a lovely terrace bar at the top. We timed it badly. You should plan to go up sometime after lunch and get settled in for sunset! :-)

To get her from Paraty, you need to get a bus to Paraty Mirim which will cost 5 Reals one way (or perhaps rent a car or take a cab which is a lot more expensive). The bus will take about 45 mins as it stops a lot along the way, and then goes through a dirt road to get to the beach. At the beach you can hire a boat to take you to the beginning of the trek. This take about 15 minutes on the boat. You can try to negotiate but the price is around 100-150 Reals for a boat (not per person). The boat will take you there and wait for you until you return, to bring you back. So you pay at the end once you return to Paraty Mirim. Your boat captain / driver will help point the start of the trek as it is slightly hidden if you do not know where to look. For the most part there is no signs apart from one sign about 100m in, at a fork, that tells you which way to continue. Then you have to follow the “path” based on looking at where it is clear others have been before. Going up, this is quite easy but steep. It took me about 45 minutes to get to the top. It is lovely to sit at the top for a bit and enjoy the views. The way down is quicker but easier to get a little lost at times which I managed to do but realised very quickly I had fallen off the path. So I backtracked and worked out the correct way. One thing to be careful of is SNAKES. On my way down I came across a snake. I believe it was not poisonous at all, and it was a green colour from what I recall. I paused and made some noise and it slithered away. Funny thing is that I encountered no other people when I was here, which was nice at times. I had also enquires with local tour companies who quotes ridiculous rates to bring me here. Better off just going by yourself and you will save yourself a lot of money. Be sure to get back to Paraty Mirim before the last bus - it is unclear when that may be but I took a bus back around 16.40. Enjoy!

A stunning boat ride and an awesome view at the top. The hike takes around an hour on a steep trail. Bring shoes! The little bay is around 7km long and it resembles a Nordic fjord given he mountains around. Great!
