Don't leave your snorkel at hotel or you'll lost a great experience into the sea that offers a lot of fish colors variety

Magical - sounds silly but it is. Go early and miss the crowds- the fish will be swimming all around you

Very nice to go on a boat trip through Ilha Grande. It has clear blue water, you can see the ocean ground from the top of the boat! Very nice to do some snorkeling!

You can book the visit with any company on the island and go to Blue Lagoon in which the water it very crystalline and the ecosystem is perfect, full of starfishes, turtles and fishes. Crystal clear water for the ones who like to dive.

We took a day trip from Rio to Angra dos Reis and then a private party schooner to the lagoon. Definitely worth the trip. For older travelers, you have to jump off the boat to enjoy the waters so bit of a disclaimer there is necessary

Lagoa Azul was the worst bit of the trip, there were about 3 or 4 big 'scuna' boats full of people shouting and playing loud music. There isn't a great variety of fish to see when snorkelling, and they all swim around... More

Similar to other reviews I read the snorkeling is OK the water is not super clear and there are a lot of people. Boats take everyone to this place still we enjoyed it.

You have to check this out if you go there. It's best to take a tour of the island to explore several beaches and lagoons. Watch out for the rocks. They are slippery. But it'e beautiful and you get to swim with fish.
