This is the best ever beach we have visited. Getting there early means you have the 3km beach to yourself. However if it has rained - walk can be treacherous there and back.....

A bit disappointed after all the hype. I've been to the Maldives and the whitsundays and this beach is not in the same league. Nice enough for a visit though. We got a private boat for 200 Reals return. It's quite a nice walk from the beach where they drop you off. Takes about 20 minutes but it's quite steep... More

When we arrived it was quite packed but we still managed to find a nice spot further down. This beach is great for watersports. We tried stand up paddling which was great fun! Lots of cafes and shops around to keep us busy and the cathedral is pretty too.

We walked from Abraao to Las Palmas beach which was very long and hot, then took a boat around to Pouso beach from which we walked the 20 minutes through to Lopes Mendes beach. Refreshing water (just), plenty of shade and drinks sellers. Walked back to Pouso and took a water taxi back to Abraao (and got soaked).

Despite it being a cloudy day, we had a great day out on the beach. We took the slow boat to Pouso from there it's a 30 hike to the beach. There were some small stands selling snacks but best to buy a packed lunch or eat at the floating restaurant at Pouso.

this beach is not accessible by tourist big boats and the waves are very high so it is cool and clean. good place for surfing, you coud rent a surf and take lessons there. there is a small beverages point, but if you want more - you should take your picnic with you.

Make sure you walk down to the end of this beach past the barrel and through the rocks! You will be rewarded with calm waves and amazing snorkling on the rocks.
