I must say we were pretty disappointed with this beach being the "second most beautiful beach of Brazil". It was very average, nothing impressive. We found Arraial do Cabo way prettier. Anyway, we took a taxi boat, it cost us 30R per person, they take...More

A great 2 hr hike to this uncrowded beach that stretches on forever. Great for a swim and some sun - then an easy walk back to Pouso for a boat ride home.

We visited in the middle of August during a week long downpour. Everything was wet and soggy. The 2.5 hour hike through the jungle over the sloping clay paths was hair raising and physically challenging (and we are three quite fit young people). Arriving at...More

Worth the trek for 3 hours or take a boat. Wide beach which means you can walk out far! Make sure the sun is shining! Not many vendors or food so take your own! Not too many people either but a big wide beach where...More

Crisp white sand that, when you step on it, give away the same sound as if you are stepping on newly fallen snow. The beach is huge and long. The things that are missing for a full score is the water temperature (I know I'm...More

We were visiting Ilha Grande in late July and first up on our list of things to do was to hike to Lopes Mendes beach. We were told by the staff at the pousada that there were no services on the beach so we went...More

I walked here from Abraao on the 3 hour trail, which is amazing in itself, but this beach is just something else. Walk right up to the far left end where there is practically no-one around and the view is phenomenal. Actual paradise.

This was an amazing beach that was worth the effort to get to. It required a 40 minute boat trip from Abraao and then a 30 minute walk over the hill. One thing to keep in mind is that the "walk" is more strenous than...More

An incredible beach, fine white sand and beautiful blue water. It is a little bit of a hike to get here if you take the water taxi. It is a considerable hike to get here by land. They say 2 hours but this is a...More

hi Sean, I can't much help with your questions to be honest. We booked a transfer from Rio with Green Toad bus company, it included the boat crossing from Jacarei and was all pretty good. We didn't do any private tours on... More
