Parque das Aves is a conservation project in the Atlantic Rainforest near Foz do Iguassu, Brazil. We take in birds which have been rescued from animal trafficking or are for some reason no longer able to survive in the wild. We give them a home in their beautiful native rainforest. We love huge aviaries. We think birds should be able to fly, and have a great social life, and feed on the best, fresh, organic diet possible. We then breed a new generation of birds which are capable of being released back into the wild (and we have a number of projects that do exactly that.) We also support projects and research throughout Brazil. We plant thousands of trees a year, restoring degraded Atlantic Rainforest. The Parque das Aves thinks that education is one of our most important tasks. Sometimes it's as simple as giving people direct contact with these beautiful birds. It's amazing what that can do. We also educate thousands of local schoolchildren a year in special programs. Thank you for supporting Parque das Aves. We couldn't do it without you.

We went after going it the falls and this was a very good finish to the day. Kids under 9 went free. There were a few large cages where the birds could fly around while we were in there which the kids and adults loved. The big parrot enclosure was the highlight. Definitely worth a visit while you are in... More

We had been disappointed in the lack of fauna we had seen in Brazil, but this park made up forn it. It has a huge collection of native birds and some foreign ones. You can go inside some of the enclosures and it is amazing.

We went here in the morning before we went to the waterfalls. It is a very clean, very friendly park where you can see many different species of birds and learn information about them. They have giant bird cages that you can walk into and actually interact with the birds, and feel how they live in their habitat. A little... More

We had already been to the falls and restaurants and were looking for something that would be low key, only taking an hour or two to walk through. We found it at Parque das Aves. They did a great job displaying an amazing variety of birds. I've visited zoos and animals parks around the world. This one was low key,... More

Right beside the ticketing office of Iguacu Falls on the Brazilian side, is this park. Immaculate walkways through rain forest, everything signed in Portugese, Spanish and English, staff also Tri lingual. An emphasis on conservation, you can leave backpacks in the office. Food in the park reasonable and quite nice, not the usual fast food rubbish.

We booked this as part of a day your package and visited first thing in the morning- a lot of people there meant it was difficult to see displays or explore in a relaxed manner. If you are visiting Iguazu Park as well suggest you do this on a second day as it was all a bit rushed. Some impressive... More

If you like birds you gonna love this place, you can get inside the bird's huge cages with them! I was a bit concerned about going there as I don't like zoos, but this place seems to be different, I spend some time talking with one of their staff and them seem to look after the birds pretty well! Definitely... More

The tour guide told us that the park is private and this excellent job comes from a German couple who decided many years ago to protect the birds and to organize this place. Unfortunately the man died two years after the opening of the park and now the lady stays in the park and keeps it open.

I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this park. The variety of birds, butterflies, hummingbirds and reptiles was excellent and the birds were all well housed and cared for. I particularly liked the flamingos, toucans and macaws. We were there for about two hours before entering the Foz de Iguacu on the Brazilian side but I could happily have spent... More

Parque des Aves is situated just outside The Iguacu national park entrance. One of the best presented and visitor friendly bird parks we have visited anywhere. Undoubtedly suitable for all ages. Clean, well maintained, well guided pathways with a clear map available to visit and in many cases mingle with a wide variety of birds many of which are brightly... More
