This can be a very dangerous place to visit. Only visit during the day when it is busy as there have been reports of mugging at gun point. Take a cab and do not try to walk there.

It is a long and busy bridge but nothing special. I went to Paraguay by bus but I saw many people crossing the bridge by foot. the only important thing is that no foreigner needs immigration forms for a short stay in Ciudad del Este.

If you go walking don't bring any valuables, thefts have been reported there. Take a van or a cab ! Much safer!

The bridge is not very extensive (550 meters), so it is perfectly possible to cross it on foot. My main concern was that there is no policing on the bridge, so crossing requires attention. Interesting view of the Paraná River.

Traveling with the taxi you just go through the bridge and land in Paraguay/Brasil. Cost from Brazil will be around 60 reales. Paraguay side is cheaper: 40. You may also risk taking Moto-Taxi (for one person).

Although it has been renewed, the traffic hasn't improved at all. There are bicycles everywhere on the traffic lane (they should be allowed only on pedestrian lane and by foot). Something that shocked me was that there were some national issue in Paraguay, and they...More
