Placa Tiradentes is a plaza in the centre area of the city. The Cathedral is located here - it was first the site of a church in 1693. Lively area day and night and very popular as a resting place for locals in the day time. Walking distance to a lot of attractions in the city centre. The Curitiba city tour bus leaves from here just outside the Cathedral. Plenty of food, drink and coffee options close by. Often a number of buskers.

Great spot to catch the sightseeing tour bus. The church is nice and very clean. There are places to eat and people selling stuff in the plaza, there were police in the area.

This is right downtown Curitiba, very close to the old, historic section. The Cathedral opens on the square. Always very crowded because it is a departure point for many of the city bus lines. Majestic trees on the square and Café Catedral (our favorite) is just a few feet away to the right of the Cathedral.

Be very careful when walking through this square, it is populated by people in need who use insistent, disrespectful and even aggressive approaches.
