MON has been one of my favorite Curitiba stables for over a decade now and is never skip it during each trip to the city. The museum grounds are absolutely gorgeous, worth exploring and sitting down for the coffee. The art collections always change and are well worth the visit.

Whether keen on architecture or nor, a fan of Niemeyer's masterpieces or not, or interest in art in all its form or not, do yourself a favour a visit MON when in Curitiba.
Open Tue to Sun, the entrance free costs R$ 30 and elderly over 60, among other groups, don't pay.
The museum has 4 levels of pure artistic expression, some of it permanent.

Not only is this a spectacular example of Niemeyer’s work, it is also home to an ever-changing and eclectic exposition of modern and world art. After coffee and a croissant at the cafe I spent almost 3 hours looking over the exhibits and could have spent longer. The enormous exhibition rooms with sparsely hung works under carefully designed lighting are a central part of the experience. I felt throughout as if I was in the power of the architect, one of the world’s finest.

Amazing architecture to look at and even better once you are inside as there is so much to see. There's around 10 separate rooms on the 1st floor with each room featuring a different theme of art/artifacts. Then there's more in the basement and on the way up to the eye. The art in the eye itself was really large scale and perfect for the space. Entry is free on Wednesdays.

Despite what many expect, the museum was only designed by Niemeyer and is not a tribute to him, with displays of his life and work.
It's a very good museum with contemporary art and some fixed exhibits, like the Asian one.
Entrance is free on Wednesdays and on Mondays it's closed.

A must when in Curitiba designed by the Brazil master Oscar Niemeyer. It is an incredible piece of art, even if inside there is not much to look at!

What I liked the most is the tower (the eye) where you can see the story of the artist, his insights written on the wall. The cafeteria it is also nice with a lot od natural light. Nice place to stop an rest for a while.
