One of the best things about driving trips is the opportunity to learn about the incredible stories of the nation’s villages, towns, and cities. The muralists in Ashland have accomplished so much in such a wonderful way. The artistic composition and execution is worth careful...More

A wonderful trolley ride with a detailed explanation of each mural ,plus personal stories to be told. Certainly worth the $5 ride around a beautiful city. A lovely hour and a quarter adventure..then you can go back and walk to get good pictures and share...More

The trolly wasn't running tours on that day, but we were able to do a self tour with the brochure. These are truly works of art. And the faces with names...unbelivable.

Beautiful murals that tell the history of Ashland. We did not have time to do a walking tour and we did not have a brochure, so just drove through the blocks looking at them. It would be nice to have brochures at the hotels. Saw...More

This is a wonderful way to learn of Ashland, WI history told by the guide, Marybeth, and told in Art by the downtown murals themselves. This could be Ashland's best-kept secret. It would be awesome if the Trolley route could have street priority to stop...More

Ashland has some great old architecture, but gaps between buildings and ugly side walls had made the downtown a bit depressing in areas. The murals are very well done and a great addition.

While visiting Ashland with 2 motor coaches of friends, we each had great step on guides that shared all the history and information about this wonderful 8 block area. It is actually listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The work has been going...More

Just stop by the Chamber of Commerce for a brochure about the murals and you can take a self guided tour. The pamphlet helps to add to the history and location of each art piece. But you can just stop and enjoy also.

No charge for parking at the hotel and they do not give you a permit to park there when you check in. I am guessing that if you are not staying there you can park short term and be OK.
