Staff was very friendly and accommodating when we arrived just before closing. Be sure to allow enough time to fully enjoy what the center has to offer. There are all sorts of displays that will educate you about Wisconsin's wonderful natural habitats.

We have driven by here a few times but I never noticed it until I looked on Trip Advisor's Things to Do recommendations. We turned a day out of school into an educational experience. My son is fascinated by Lake Superior and I was glad to see so much about the history of the people in the area. Native Americans,... More

This dramatic and well designed tower building houses a wealth of local information about the Great Lake Superior, and the water shed that supports it. Directly across the parking lot, and the adjacent county road, is a well designed, and expertly maintained, handicapped accessible walking trail through the terrain that Aldo Leopold helped save from total destruction. There is a... More

I hadn't expected much from this place intending only to stop off to buy a park pass (they don't sell the National Parks Annual Pass) Instead we found a considerable amount of interesting information which held us there for more than an hour. The rangers are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed my visit -... More

We like museums and enjoyed this one. The elevator ride to top floor observation deck was much better than stairs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good place to pause from driving. Very clean restrooms!

What a nice place. The woman behind the desk was so very knowledgeable and kind. We wanted apples and they had a great map of the places and what kind of apple they have. We asked about Cable and Hayword as well as Bayfield and she really covered all of the bases plus mapped out a great route to drive... More

Although I visited the center to learn about the Great Lakes (I'm a westerner), I spent more time looking at the quilts on display They were outstanding! The interpretive displays are good and well done. The view from the crows nest is outstanding. The field glasses on the window ledges are a nice touch. The historical photos and questions about... We stayed here for 45 minutes or so, but could easily have spent 2 hours. Very interesting as to the history of the area and the geology of the area. Interactive exhibits.
