First place, we visited in Bayfield County and absolutely worth it. Excellent displays about nature and history of Lake Superior and around. Also a good movie, appr. 10 min. You get N.P. stamps for the National Lakeshore and some flyers about local events and special places. For first time visitors I would recommend to stop by.

This is a must stop if you are in the Apostle Island area! This free gem has interactive exhibits and a wealth of displays that rival some museums I've been to. There is a scavenger hunt for the children, along with Junior Tanger activity books. There's a viewing tower and the second floor has a small Historcal Society museum that... More

Where to start., it is just a block before turning to bayfield. But this place is a treasure to kick off. Start with the information booth., there are two junior park ranger activity. Hunt for the giant eagle nest and the board walk to look some awesome trees. The murals are the classics. Finally the rangers, are awesome, fantastic folks.

My younger sister loved this place. She had a blast taking pictures and exploring what this place had to offer. Really a nice place considering it is in a relatively small town.

We almost didn't stop. Would we have missed out! Awesome exhibits about history of what makes the Lake Superior area what it is. Also have a walking path around property so bring your shoes. Good for all ages.

This is an excellent stop to learn about the history and environmental issues we all need to address. Free admission. Friendly, informative staff. Accessible to all. Easily maneuvered. The displays are formative, easy to read, not overwhelming. Nice views from the third level. Gift shop, of course. Ample parking. Clean restrooms.

Stopped by the center on the way to apostle Islands. Great overview of history and nature of the area. Biggest bonus was 5 national park stamps for my crazy for stamps kids.

Very clean and the staff were great to tell you about the area and they gave us insight into the local history and surrounding Apostle Islands. It has a gift shop on site.

Interesting exhibits and an awesome tower to look out. Very friendly workers and a nice gift shop. Loved the fact that at the theatre you pick your movie and they will load it for you.
