I've never seen a grand old european theatre, let alone in the Amazon, so I found it interesting and impressive and def worth the visit. For 4Reals you get entry and a free guide, whose english was great and his talk interesting and funny

The Teatro (Theatro Nossa Senhora da Paz) just sit there by the Park. Built between 1869 and 1874 overlooking Praça da República still keeps its character. It is a pleasant photo of it sitting in the park

The theatre is set in a nice square in a good part of Belem. It is quite interesting to see how ornate this building is given the state of some of the rest of the city. Well worthwhile checking it out.

You should visit the interior of this beautiful theatre that exists since Pará was a huge rubber exporter. The decór is very different from what you would expect to find in this part of the country.
