The downtown of Ouro Preto is beautiful and very well maintained! Old, charming buildings with the old flair of the city still in place. Beautiful churches, museums and streets. Just wander around and enjoy :)

Great walking experience despite the steep hills. The preserved buildings and church contribute to the historic atmosphere. Commercialization takes away the atmosphere on the Praca Tiradentes; away from that area is is very good. Tiradentes and Paraty have an older more authentic feel for me...More

LOTS of churches. Beautiful colonial architecture. Good selection of restaurants and pousadas. Parking can be a challenge.

Being in Ouro Preto is always magical and very enriching. I love the fact that you walk a lot and always see beautiful things. the city center is like a movie, magical and historical, perfect for people who likes this kind of things.

The historic center of Ouro Preto, Brazil, offers much more than the 18th century atmosphere. This is a lively, exuberant University campus full of young people bringing new life to architecture complex. Great restaurants, bars, hostels, stores. I loved it.
