Some exhibits have been moved to St Francis of Assisi. Check online to see when it opens. Aleijadninho should not be missed; keep an eye out for his work, usually in wood or soapstone, everywhere!

There is just one of two pieces really made by 'Aleijadinho'. The only piece I liked is one which shows how the golden columns at the churchs are made (covered with gold).

The Museu do Aleijadinho is essentially a small annex to the Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Conceição. If you do not have a lot of time to spend in Ouro Preto, you should skip this. I expected many more works by Aleijadinho. In fact...More
