Extreme park
Nov 2019 • Friends
The park is located away from the city and fit for families or people who come to do extreme sport, play soccer, tennis, ride the bike, skate and stuff like that.
Before you go: make sure you’re vaccinated for the Yellow fever. If you’re not and you insist to come in you must sign that if something happens to you it’s under your responsibility.

Closed due to Yellow Fever outbreak
Feb 2019
Only the main entrance and Praça das Aguas are open. Normally you can hike trails (3 main trails) but these are all closed for an undetermined period due to a Yellow Fever outbreak in the park.

Abandonment and absence of life
Nov 2018 • Solo
It is a shame to know that a park so beautiful and full of natural life with enormous potential is partly overlooked (among other reasons because of yellow fever) and totally abandoned, without maintenance, accumulating debris.
The Water Square (Praça das Águas) is dirty and the fountains are disconnected - poor carps.
The good thing is you can take the bus straight from main gate to town.
Beverage sellers were closed, none to provide you information, old and outdated signs.

Nature and hiking
Sep 2018 • Friends
There is a really nice hike going up to the view point where you can find an astonishing view. It is nice walking around the park as well. They have different playgrounds for kids. Great place to walk dogs.

Bad day.
Jul 2018 • Couples
Most of the park closed the day we went.
Was dry season so understood no fountains etc. Was scrubby and a bit of a mess. They want to see proof of yellow fever vaccination as well ! Not worth it. View from mirante was great.

Really a lovely park. Great for a hike or just to hand out. Close to downtown. You’ll never believe that this is a reclaimed iron mine!

Sep 2017 • Solo
there was supposed to be waterfalls and a good point of view but they are fixing it right now, at least from what they said. The park is ok for a nice afternoon under the sun, with different sport fields

Huge park !
Jun 2017 • Couples
Yes it is massive and it must be very lively during the weekend as it offers a lot of activities for children to adults. It's lovely to walk around but not so much animals to see. Very well looked after though.

Do not wast your time seeing horrible things.Dirty, unsafe and dangerous, instead of having a pleasure you might put your life at risk
