For anyone who has done a cave tour before, this is no different. They explain the way the rock is formed over millions of years etc. What makes this truly beautiful is the water. But it's a lot of waiting around to finally get down there and the guides don't speak english.

Very beautiful formations, very interesting visit. Makes for great outing. Good to book for the Gruta de São Miguel for the same day, with lunch included.

I have read some comments about a cave being a cave and I have being to other caves before so I went because of my mother but I dont know, I found it to be different. The most beautiful blue lake! The cave is so well preserved that it looks even better from what I have been before. The walk... More

We had a very knowledgeable geologist guide who explained how the grotto was formed and the reason for the azure coloured water(all to do with limestone and sun). The descent is quite steep and you are kitted out with protective hairnet and helmet. Plenty of time to look at grotto and ask questions.

This cave contains lots of stalagmites, many of which are growing towards the light. At the bottom is a very deep blue pool of water. This is caused by the light shinning on the white limestone rock at the bottom. Visits are in groups with a knowledgable guide - it involves a walk down 300 steps so wear sensible shoes.

It is very pretty and a good way to see what lies beneath the surface. It is a continuous flow of tourists. Very well run and the water is beautiful. Guides know about the evolution of caves and the eco systems. If tight on time and if you've seen other caves, I'd skip this sight. 30 minutes from Bonito..

If you have visited caves it is not very interesting. The colour of the water at the bottom of the cave is distinctive due to the colour.

We visited the cave not knowing what to expect but it was a pleasant surprise. The whole trip took the entire morning and it could have been done it less time. The walk to the cave (300 steps down and then 300 steps up) is done with a guide and max 15 persons in the group. There are only a... More

This lake is the icon of Bonito. The blue water is really nice, especially in the morning. However, the place is a bit overrated vs other sites around Bonito that I'd recommend even more.
