The small church is really worth a visit. Although small, it is really beautiful and a typical example of Oscar Niemeyer architecture. In this case he managed to transform his ideas into a quite small structure and still create something unique. The decoration is by Athos Bulcão.

Nicknamed ‘The Small Church’ and built in 100 days. It was the first temple to be built in Brasilia and opened in June 1958

It’s located adjacent to residential
Blocks. The Architect was non other than Oscar Nieyamyer. The blue tiles with white Doves on are truly attractive and designed by Athos Bulcao.
This can be visited and enjoyed within 5 minutes. Parking is a problem, we also visited the local shops and had lunch nearby.

A sweet little chapel in one of the residential squares is worth visiting to appreciate that modern architectural can be inviting and charming and full of warmth. The one room space does not take much time to take in, the images of the kites flying to be closer to heaven will stay with you.

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima (locally known as Igrejinha - little church) was the first brick-and-mortar church built in Brasília, built by Brazil then First Lady. It was inaugurated with a catholic mass and then a wedding, back in June, 28th 1958. Architect Oscar Niemeyer designed a church with a slab in form of an isosceles triangle, supported by an u-shaped wall, which. Its shape resembles a nun hat, and the use of reinforced concrete in its building allows for unlikely curved shapes, in which the architect plays with the materials. The outer walls decorated by iconic tiles designed by Athos Bulcão, another important name in the city's history. This church was built in 100 days, and it's located in a residential area, with lots of magnificent trees and near to a thriving commercial area. Well worth the visit, which won't take you more than 5 minutes.

Just a must see kind of place. This small modern church is a pearl! Designed by Oscar Niemeyer, encapsulated by the most beautiful tiles by Athos Bulcão and in a neighborhood planned by Lúcio Costa. The church fluctuates in the space and it is pure poetry. Must see iconic place of Brasília modernism.

Very nice place to visit in Brasilia. The little church is beautiful, designed by Niemeyer and with decorative tiles by Brasilia artist Athos Bulcão. But there are two other details about your visit. The first is the location of the church, adjacent to one of the nicest residencial blocks of Brasilia, the SQS 308, which has its garden designed by Burle Marx. The second is the fact that, if you visit it at night, you will be able to try one of the best hot dogs of Brasilia, in a triler almost in from of the church. Enjoy!!
