About
Museu Vale, opened in October 15th 1998, is an initiative of the Vale Foundation, an institution that performs actions, projects and social programs in regions where Vale operates, in order to contribute to the territorial development and strengthen the people and communities, while respecting local cultural identities. Vale Foundation believes that investing in equipment and cultural programs is an opportunity for territorial development, as it strengthens public culture policy and promotes social inclusion - especially of children and young people. Furthermore, participation in cultural activities brings positive impacts for societies and individuals in many dimensions: develops skills and abilities, stimulates creativity, strengthens the self-esteem, stablishes values and opens new possibilities of work and income. Museu Vale is part of the commitment of Vale Foundation with the increase of the access to cultural assets, the preservation of local cultural identities and strengthening and valuing Brazilian cultural heritage and memories. With its exhibitions, seminars and art workshops, promotes contact among the diversity of style, techniques and contemporary aesthetic, encouraging many young people to join the market of artistic-cultural production.

Theres is another great view of Vitoria channel. The museum it's simple, but its free. The restaurant otherwise it's fantastic. Part of it is a adapted train wagon. And the food is very good too.

It´s not a big museum, not much to see in it. There is an old wagon, history of local railway and a very nice coffee shop. What impressed me most was the beautiful view of Vitoria bay.

It is a small cosy museum, worth a quick visit but the real opportunity is to kill two birds with a stone and stop there, after the visit to grab lunch or a sandwich.
Additional advantage for parents: the kid could roam freely and safely around while you eat/rest.

I visited with some family and we used the audio guides throughout the space. They were easy to use and provided additional information to the placards. The museum had excellent artefacts and they were displayed in such a way that you could really see and understand them. Museum Vale also houses the biggest model railway in Brazil and is very interesting. We enjoyed spending time it he gardens and then having coffee in their little restaurant. In their exhibition space there is different things throughout the year.

The old train station has been remodelled and is now a museum and exhibition center, well worth visiting. There is an old train car converted into a cozy cafe I can warmly recommend!
