One of the oldest buildings in Brazil. You can notice the detailed wood and ceramic work from almost 500 years ago. From the top you get the best view of Vitoria and Vila Velha city.

An unmissable tourist spot for anyone visiting Vitória or Vila Velha and, being Catholic, a place of pilgrimage, prayer and devotion. For both, it is a very high place, with wonderful views of much of the city of Vitória (on the other side of the sea, as Vitória is an island) and Vila Velha, including the urban center and the coast of both cities. . Now, advice: hop on the van service that is right at the entrance!!!! Because going up on foot is only for pilgrims, those who want to make promises, or athletes with a lot of resistance... it's almost like going up to Corcovado, in Rio de Janeiro! Don't risk it. And the van fare, up and down, is only R$6. Another thing, you can buy souvenirs in stores outside the walls or up there, but don't buy "little bottles of holy water" sold outside, because holy water CANNOT BE SOLD, the shopkeepers commit heresy. At the convent you can fill as many bottles of holy water as you want for FREE, because that's how it is done. There is a reservoir up there with taps to get holy water. The historic church is very small, so much so that it doesn't even have benches to accommodate a few more people, and there are TV monitors in the side corridor where more people who want to attend masses can fit. On the landing where the vans stop there are beautiful viewpoints and a large stage for large public masses. From there to the church we still climb a long stone staircase, all original from the 1500s.

The convent really is a very beautiful place for the entire complex in which it is located. It is very beautiful to observe from afar, seen from Vitória and also up close with its small and beautiful chapel highlighting the image of Nossa Senhora da Penha. It has a good structure, with a craft store, snack bar and vans that travel up and down, which is very helpful for those who don't want to make the steep climb on foot. However, as it is small on weekends and in hot weather, visiting the chapel becomes a little tiring.

The place has a breathtaking view!
The infrastructure is good. It has a snack bar and souvenir shops. For those going with children, I suggest going up by car or van (R$5 per person round trip) to the bottom of the stairs.

Beautiful place of peace and amazing views!
The path is a steep climbing route, of stones and can be done with the use of a Van R$ 6 (only climb or descent), R$ 10 (rise and descent) or trenzinho.
It is worth walking, as the path between trees is delicious.
On top, a viewpoint for city observation and bridge (until here, easy access).
After a staircase, of stones and more stairs, you can reach the convent and its history.
IMPORTANT!!! NOT ACCESSIBLE for the elderly, people with motor difficulties and mothers with children in carts.

Beautiful view! Free entrance. The person has the option of walking up, like I did, or paying 10.00 in a van to go up and down. There is also the option of the little train which costs 20.00 up and down. I went up on foot, then I was tired and went down by train. The little train tells the story of the place... I went through the viewpoint, I'm not Catholic. I believe that for Catholics the experience is even better. I thought it was incredible that a place with this structure had free entry. There is a drinking fountain with cold water available to visitors and a snack bar. Very well taken care of.

The view is very good, we see the whole city and some more neighbors there. The access is also quiet. Although the highest part, on the hill, only has stairs (wheelchairs have no access), but this is a problem of the construction being very old (difficult to solve).

I went with my mother and she loved it. The landscape is really cool from up there. You can go up by van (you pay R$ 6.00 round trip) or by train (I don't remember the cost), but you can go up on foot without any problems (as long as it doesn't rain). There was mass at the time we went up. The place for the mass is very small, it doesn't fit many people. The church is very beautiful. There are restrooms and a convenience store.

A beautiful architecture that tells a little more about the history of Brazil. The view you have from the top, both of Vila Velha and Vitoria, is beautiful. The convent and the Chapel itself are small, but very beautiful.
You can either go up from the entrance on foot, take a van or, on less crowded days, park at the top.
It is, however, a walk with little accessibility from what I understand and you need to climb a lot of stairs to get to the convent.

Mandatory stop! A breathtaking setting and a perfect view.
You have the option of walking or paying a fee for transportation, as there is a path from the beginning to the arrival of the convent. It's worth taking the walk and enjoying nature!
