One of the best beaches in the City, this is beach for all ages and you have no big waves to worry about. I swam easily to what they call a turtle island, I saw no turtles but it was a great achievement swimming there. I'd recommend coming here via taxi or Uber since parking is rarely available. Come as early as you can because during the summer months or in the afternoons it can be crowded quite quickly. This place is a perfect for relaxing and you rarely get people approaching you to buy stuff which to me is a big plus. Highly recommended and enjoy!

A busy beach. Very varied audience.
The water is bright. Thin and yellow sand.
At the northern tip of the beach there is a small canal where it is possible to walk through the sandy Banner to the Mermaid Stone.
It has several pickup points for electric skates.
In the surroundings, restaurants of all tastes.
Another good beach of Villa Velha.

It's a great option for those who like urbanized beaches with lots of people. In high season, the promenade is busy and the sandbank is full of bathers. The sea is beautiful and the view from that stretch of Espírito Santo coastline is beautiful. In short, a beach for those who enjoy hustle and bustle.

We were next to a small square, as in the heat the crowds are strong and full of people. It has everything, Farofa beach, but difficult to access by Uber or your own vehicle as we had to pay for parking. Water a little calmer than other beaches but still cold water

The beach may be beautiful but it is super crowded. I didn't even want to go in.
We stopped in Vila Velha on the way up from Rio to Bahia by car.
Apart from lunch at Atlantica, the stop was a mistake. We could have gone straight to Itaúnas, which was our next destination.

The beach is rubbish. This phrase well summarizes my experience. No bathrooms nearby, scattered garbage, pigeons, charge to sit in chairs with sunscreen (as you will consume on site) and lots of nuts. Horrible experience, Aracaju which was my last trip, gives 10x0.

The beaches in Great Victoria (Vitoria & Vila Velha area) aren't superb. The water is cold, the sand is full of popsicle sticks and other small trash items. There aren't public toilets but there are scattered little stands selling food and drink as well as lots of popsicle sellers who come by pulling carts.
The waves aren't big enough to surf in, but if you go to the very end of Praia da Costa near the big rock it is quite pleasant to swim (if you brave the cold) as the waves aren't as crashing. Lifeguards have recently started being placed at intervals, which is great.
One of the best things to do at the beach is walk along the broad boardwalk, especially at night when loads of people go out to exercise.

Costa beach opposite Spetses had long been a boat trip by hindreds a week, long sandy, nice bar, water sports but alas now it is in ruin, disrepair, closed wrecked hotels, no life. So sad, now a no go destination, cannot believe it

There are two sides, the main one with more waves and more people. There is a rock where you can go to take pictures but it is often (especially at night) full of people using drugs and there are lots of broken glass, so take care going barefoot. The other side is most often used by families and children, a lot of them! Because it has no waves (almost always). This area have a project for people on wheelchair, that takes them to the water with special equipments and the safe guard. Both sides, the sand is kinda dirty on weekends because of the quantity of people. At night, it's really dark and there are some homeless. But on weekends they have a fair with native products, food, more people, so it is better.

I recommend you to stay between Quality Suits Hotel and Farmácia Avenida. It's the best location, with beautiful people!

By the way, there is no bathroom available in the beach, so you probably have to use one of any restaurant or pharmacy.

The beach is very beautiful and the left side of the beach is perfect for swimming. On the left side you will find calm waters, and also have a beautiful view from the city. I really enjoyed this beach!
