This is a creation of Ashley Furniture owner Ron Wanek and many local leaders who built an amazing military park in small town Arcadia, WI. It's is an impressive site to see the pride a local community has taken to celebrate and remember our country's military past. I'd recommend a trip to see it as a destination trip. Impressive.

I'll always have a fondness for a small town entrepreneur named Ron Wanek who fulfills a dream of building the country's biggest furniture company named Ashley then gives back so generously to the town that supported him to construct a tribute to our servicemen and women who've served their country. It's called the Soldiers Walk Memorial Park located in Arcadia, Wisconsin and I heartily recommend a visit to experience it.

If you are anywhere near Arcadia WI. It is about 45 minutes north of La Crosse WI. You need to check out this park. I will have a hard time explaining the history. The founder of Ashley Furniture has put together so many statues to memorialize the war veterans. Going in Spring or Summer is better to walk around and the park has all the flags and flowers out. It is free to go. I have walked through it 10+ times. There is a water park near by as well. I drive up this way just to see this park and gladly spend 1 1/2 on road. You will learn something new by reading the history on the many plaques. Look for the fighter plane coming over the hill, there are places to sit and walking paths are paved nicely. AWESOME PLACE TO REMEMBER THOSE THAT HAVE SERVED THIS COUNTRY!!!

Not only is this a wonderful military memorial, it also commemorates the early settlers of the area and the establishment of Ashley furniture, a big employer in the area, and his ties to the Midwest Frontier. There is so much to see while strolling through the park. One cannot help but feel the pride and respect for veterans of all eras and the dignity that this lovely green space commands

The Soldiers Walk Memorial Park in Arcadia is the largest Memorial Park in the U.S, outside of Washington D.C. - it covers a span of 54 acres and is dedicated to veterans of all wars and conflicts. The park was paid for by the owners of Ashley Furniture in Arcadia, it is open to the public daily, and there is no fee.
I visited Soldiers Walk Memorial Park on a cold blustery day before the afterbirth of winter was cleaned up. The place was awe inspiring even without freshly mowed manicured lawns, summer flowers, or flags at each monument with the night spotlights shining upon them.
I think every school group should visit the memorial - it's just that good. I would encourage people to also check out the website, listen to the interactive videos and displays... everything is top notch and of the highest quality.
Soldiers Walk Memorial is impressive, even without the flowers and flags.

Arcadia invested well into the public spaces. The Soldiers Walk Memorial park was impressive. The statues, and the military equipment were well placed and neat to see. The pathway is lined with granite benches, so you can sit a spell as well. The amplitheater was great to listen to.

This is an exceptional park display for such a small town as Arcadia. I was very impressed with the statues, the shady walk and how well it is cared for.

For a small town, this is a fabulous park. It's a park for all ages. Not only does it have a playground, it also has a swimming pool (if it is the season) and the walk from the tank to the amphitheater is a history lesson or review of one!! My husband who loves history totally fell in love with it. What other anall town of under 3 thousand people has a beam from 9/11. Phenomenal! Truly an adventure
