Great views! Good museum!

Now you can climb to the top - all stairs folks! The gift shop is nicely done with a good variety. It's just picturesque and best - not modernized.Just lacking a cafe.

It's a steep climb, if you do not like heights don't do it. Vendors galore, do not meet their eyes unless you want to buy. The view is magnificent and will put you in a meditative mood.

Caught a taxi here from the Historic centre. R15 to get in and has a small museum. Can climb the lighthouse for the view. However, at the top, photography is hampered by protective netting. Has a reputation for the excellent sunsets (although we did not see this) Interesting visit lasting 30 minutes or so as part of a stroll along... More

As night falls, the curtain around the lens is drawn back and a first order light - two flicks white followed by one red - stream out through the night until dawn. It is a massive lighthouse, and well worth a visit. Climb up to the lantern room or walk the fortifications and visit the maritime museum. Well worth a... More

Interesting building. Lots of locals wanting to sell you ribbons, beads and the usual tat or charge you a couple of reais for taking pictures of women in local dress. Good vantage point for views of the bay and a very welcome cool breeze.

My head is buzzing with the sights, sounds, smells and energy of the old town, but it is approaching sunset, so I quickly walk to the Barra Lighthouse for the sunset. It is on a promontory where All Saint’s Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. Apart from the lighthouse Its also occupied by the Forte de Santo Antonio – even the... More

If like about history this is a nice place to visit. With a water view the Lighthouse was and is still used to guide vessels . Since 1696 the entrance of Bahia Todos os Santos Bay was defended by the impressive Fort of Santo Antonio . Definitely worth a visit.
