Nice place to spend a day

It is a litle far, but it is very nice. You can stay in any of the bars that offer beach umbrella and chairs for a price.

Stella Maris beach is probably what you'd call blend and generic. There's nothing special about it - Sand is okay, the sea is okay, the public is okay, nothing stands out. However on the other hand, it does not suffer from the crowded environment, and is one the best options for a more empty beach nearer to Salvador.

I enjoyed daily walks on the beach. During the week there were very few people but on the weekend it was packed. Ocean is warm but you need to be careful entering the water as it is very rocky at places. There are tables and umbrellas to rent at the beach.

Open Ocean Can have strong tides and hi waves I like this beach that is far from Salvador's center Enjoy typical fish and seafood fare at beach front restaurants

If you are looking for a calm beach to to enjoy your family, your friends and the good waves. This is the place to go, beautiful beach with a good portion of sand to have play. And like Flamengo, you can see a lot of beautiful people around.

Stella Maris beach is nice, but somewhat isolated, with very little to do outside of being at the beach. This beach is good for locals but not too attractive for travelers like myself. The Stella Maris beach is located in a very nice community of condos, apartments and houses.

Absolutely gorgeous beaches. Was even able to do a little snorkeling. I would definitely recommend this beach to friends and return someday.

Nice beach, quiet. Keep in mind there are too many rocks on the beach, where swimming may be dangerous. You need to walk a little to find the right place for swimming

This is a beach outside the city, not far from the airport. Nice view of the waves coming in... a good walk on the beach... but the beach itself is not well cared for, not clean... lot of debris... plus the sea is very rough... it is not a calm, inviting sea... better stick to one of the hotels' swimming... We were a little dissapointed with Stella Maris beach. It took us a good 30/45 min to get there by cab. It wasn't as sheltered as hoped and crowded on either side although you able to find some quiet spots. Not much shade and (compared to Australian beaches) relatively dirty and littered. Water was nice temperature and opportunity to have... More
