- Juan P6 contributionsI visited an area very close to the lighthouse, where it forms a natural pool. I had to pay R$ 10 / chair and R$ 20 / sunshine, except that the Heineken Long Neck was R$ 15... but I admit that I still think it was worth it. The area wasn't very full until 14:30. The beach, despite having a lot of stone in the sea, is very pleasant and after 14h begins to rise in tide and form a pool in the area where there are no stones. That's when it starts to increase the audience, but it was still a very enjoyable experience.Visited January 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten January 31, 2025
- Laiana N25 contributionsFarol da Barra Beach has beautiful landscapes, inviting for a swim in warm waters! Crystal clear water! At low tide, natural pools form, which are great for little ones to enjoy! For those who are going to spend the day at the beach in the right corner next to the lighthouse, you have the option of renting chairs (R$12.00 per person) and an umbrella.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 22, 2024
- Ingrid S39 contributionsWe went without expecting much and the Lighthouse surprised us. Beautiful, full of stories. We took incredible photos! Full price is 15.00 and half price is 7.50 for teachers over 60 years oldVisited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 19, 2024
- Piu W2 contributionsIt was already my favorite beach and so it remained. Uh, an urban beach, and soon you think it's polluted, which is not true. Eh clean, calm, and a great place to take the kids. There are small natural pools between the rocks. I recommend caution when climbing in them, as it has limo and can lead to a fall.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 26, 2024
- Tayane N1 contributionI visited Salvador, in December 2023, with family. I went to Mercado Modelo and Farol da Barra beach. You should go Rio Vermelho beach, Restaurant Secan Pelourinho, eat acarajé. You shouldn’t use cell phone on the street, it’s dangerous. City is hot, with lively and receptive people.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 25, 2024
- Ivete RosaneFlorianopolis, SC77 contributionsAmazing!! The place where the Lighthouse is is simply wonderful!! Wonderful Saturday to wait for the sunset of ☀️ with a lot of people sitting waiting for this magical moment. We visited the Museum inside the lighthouse which is very well ⁇ ined and clean. The view from above is pleasant to the eyes and heart. I would undoubtedly return to this space blessed by God.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 1, 2024
- jamesaI3832SQ370 contributionsExcellent beach with excellent amenities nearby. The vendors on this beach work hard to make certain you are comfortable and can focus on enjoying the beach experience. We spent half a day in the beach and enjoyed each minute. The water is excellent and the sand is great. There is plenty to see and do. Love the beach experience hereVisited December 2024Traveled with friendsWritten January 6, 2025

Great view, good place to park (a little expensive). Cool beach with natural pools. The lighthouse is a very interesting museum with a cool view and even has a snack bar to drink something or eat at the top.

This is a landmark beach, very famous and usually overcrowded. Today, our visit did not reach the sand: the beach is closed to people. The view, though is prettier than never. It calls you to take advantage of the prettiest sunset in city! Ware your mask, st in the grass and enjoy peace.

With a decent size, it has the Lighthouse on one end, and the Cristo do Morro, on the other end.
There are kiosks where chairs and parasols can be used for a fairly cheap fare, on top of ordering some drinks and light food.
It's safe during day and night, and it's usually patrolled. But being alert and aware of surroundings and movement can also be helpful as to avoid pick-pocketers both in the street level or in the sand.

The beach is full of stones, has countless others much better for bathing and viewing. The surroundings are dirty, the urine is dirty, there are bidders everywhere and people wanting to sell you things. Dangerous place during the day and impossible to stay at night. Looks like the city council just left the surroundings there. Run, it's stuck.

Unfortunately I only had time to visit at night, but it was incredible. The wind hitting our faces and almost pulling us off the ground (lol). A very peaceful place to spend time, but if you need to be alert, it is common to be approached by several street vendors and it is possible to observe walkers nearby.

We didn't have a good impression of
Savior. We stayed in Barra. Dirty, smelly beach, with no suitable place for trash. At night it is full of rats. Lots of beggars and street vendors making hell. Most places have a feeling of insecurity. Very loud and tasteless sound in most bars. We won't be back.

The Lighthouse looks like a painting.
Farol da Barra beach is extremely beautiful. It has natural pools with calm and crystal clear waters. Right in front of the lighthouse there is a crafts fair. There are many food options, bars, restaurants, stalls. It is a perfect setting for excellent photos. Safe beach, constant policing.

My son and I spent some lovely afternoons on this beach! It's safe and regularly patrolled by lifeguards, there are chairs and tables, parasols available for a very reasonable price, and a constant flow of people offering drinks and food but they aren't pushy and are simply there in case you want something.
There are many families with children and they bring their picnics and music, it's a lovely, friendly, atmosphere. A little noisy but in a fun way!
My only criticism would be that there are no taps or showers available to wash off the sand when we get off the beach.
I will go again!

This is without a shadow of a doubt the most beautiful beach in Salvador. An urban beach, clean, with crystal clear waters, and views of Farol da Barra. What a charming place! I highly recommend everyone to spend at least an afternoon here. The beach has a lot of structure and there are many stores and shopping malls near the beach.

Beautiful beach, suitable for swimming. Very narrow strip of sand, there is no way for you to sit and spread a sarong - you need to stay in one of the rented umbrellas. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants on the waterfront. The sea is very calm and shallow, on the beach there are some kayak and stand up paddle options (this costs 30 reais for half an hour on weekends)

Written January 5, 2019
From the airport, don’t take taxi too expensive. Get Uber for half price;
OR
Take an executive bus if you’re traveling with a carry on

Praia do Forte, Guajaruba, Ilha Do Frades, Itaparica son excursiones imperdibles y cercanas a la ciudad.

É bom verificar a meteorologia local.
Abraço e boa viagem.
