Great place for walks
Nov 2020 • Friends
I enjoy very much the beaches when they are open during lockdown but also walks along here with the sunset or a glass of wine on the gay wall is the best.

Pandemic beautiful and clean view
Oct 2020 • Couples
This is a landmark beach, very famous and usually overcrowded. Today, our visit did not reach the sand: the beach is closed to people. The view, though is prettier than never. It calls you to take advantage of the prettiest sunset in city! Ware your mask, st in the grass and enjoy peace.

Very beatiful place
Aug 2020
I visited the city and this part of the beach, with the lighthouse and this beautiful area, in these lonely times because of the Covid issue.

Nice urban beach.
Aug 2019
With a decent size, it has the Lighthouse on one end, and the Cristo do Morro, on the other end.
There are kiosks where chairs and parasols can be used for a fairly cheap fare, on top of ordering some drinks and light food.
It's safe during day and night, and it's usually patrolled. But being alert and aware of surroundings and movement can also be helpful as to avoid pick-pocketers both in the street level or in the sand.

Relaxing, fun and safe
Jan 2020
My son and I spent some lovely afternoons on this beach! It's safe and regularly patrolled by lifeguards, there are chairs and tables, parasols available for a very reasonable price, and a constant flow of people offering drinks and food but they aren't pushy and are simply there in case you want something.

There are many families with children and they bring their picnics and music, it's a lovely, friendly, atmosphere. A little noisy but in a fun way!

My only criticism would be that there are no taps or showers available to wash off the sand when we get off the beach.

I will go again!

The Farol da Barra Beach is located right next to Farol da Barra, a must-visit lighthouse and tourist attraction in Salvador. Beautiful beach.

Art Deco by the beach!
Sep 2019 • Couples
This beach is very popular attracting both local and visitor. The 1503 fortress - first in the Americas - is a great sunset spot. Lots of people playing guitars on the lawn, and children running around. How could one not like the place? To make it more attractive a 1929 tall building in Art Deco style known as Oceania. One alert: don’t take money, cell phones neither jewelry. There may be pickpockets.
Enjoy the place!

A beach for surfers ...
Jun 2019
Right between "Morro do Cristo" and the iconic "Farol da Barra", you will find the famous "Praia do Farol da Barra". It is already outside of "Baía de Todos os Santos" and bathed directly by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Quite rocky and wavy, it is not so popular with bathers, but surfers do love it! During high tides, the sand areas sometimes almost disappear. Its sidewalk, completely renovated, is perfect for long and nice walks, or also jogging, even during early evenings. Restaurants and bars complete the scene. Enjoy!
