I visited this Museum for some historical research on Bahia. Great price and great tour! I was especially fortunate to have Valdineia Lima as my tour guide. She provided an incredibly insightful perspective that I wouldn't have been able to get otherwise.

The interior of this building is truly beautiful and the view from its open air staircase along the shoreline must be one of the most magnificent in Salvador. What makes a visit really interesting though is the building’s original history. The knowledgeable (and free) individual...More

For the foreigners there is a excursion at 2-30 with no additional fare. Without the explanation it can be difficult to understand the museum items. The guide is very good lady. She not only talked about the museum but also about the life in Salvador....More

From all of the museums that I visited in Salvador, The Misericordia Museum was the most well-kept. It was by far the cleanest and most organized. Although, what really made the difference in the place was the museum guide, Licia. She was a loveable person...More

Beautiful historical building, but the star was the guide, who was honestly one of the most knowledgeable, interesting, and enthusiastic guides I've ever had. Well worth the visit and only 10 Reais.

Worth visiting if you have a little extra time. It was especially fascinating to us as homeopathic and naturopathic doctors.

My husband and I were very impressed with this museum. After signing in, we were met immediately by Adriano, an English-speaking guide. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a great deal about the roll of the Church in the lives of early Bahians. He...More

I was just walking down the road wandering around Salvador when I happened upon this museum. I went in and am so glad I did. For $6, I got into the museum and a private guide (Dine) who was great. There’s a ton of history...More
