The museum itself is nothing special, showing a bit of naval history. Interesting but nothing special. However the lighthouse itself is a beautiful building and the view is great.

The entry fee is a very cheap 15 Reals and offers great views od the area from the top of the lighthouse. There are plenty of nautical displays from the early Portuguese saefarers days. The displays are labled in both Portuguese and English which is helpful.

Since we lived across the street we looked and saw the grounds and the lighthouse for almost 3 weeks, the museum was cheap, and if you go before sunset it's a great sunset watching place as well as a fun place, the lighthouse.
The exhibit is not an after thought, well done, good signage, nice exhibits, take lots of pictures, no flash allowed.

Nice little attraction with a bit of shade inside and cafe. Climb the lighthouse for a 2-direction view of the adjacent bays.

If you like cultural things then this place should be om ur list. Its an old fortess n lighthouse converted to small nautical museum. Then there is beach nearby where one can have a good time. Be sure not to go late at this place as things get naughty behind the fort with local couples.

As with most lighthouses, the location is lovely, right on the corner with beautiful views of the sea. Stop in if you're in the area but don't make a special trip. Visitors are permitted to climb the stairs and enjoy the breeze at the top. The museum features small samplings of artifacts such as pieces from a shipwreck, antique navigation and lighting equipment, and a nautical history in bottles.

It's in a wonderful old fort and lighthouse, very well restored. Exhibits of the naval history and battles and the slave trade. A lot of English signs and descriptions.
