Nice place for a wlak at the sunset, the place has poor structure for visitations but it gas indeed an astonishing view, some interesting street food (try the Acarajé). Down at the bech some pool formed by the rocks, if happens you to be in bathing it is worth checking. It has free streer musicians playing also. The hole thing will take about a couple of yours. The place is quite safe and credit card is accepted, no need for cash if you will

The Farol da Barra in Salvador, located at Farol da Barra Beach in Salvador. Considered one of the most unmissable places for its historical and historical importance, Farol da Barra in Salvador offers many beauties and a unique experience to all who visit. Situated on one of Salvador's best beaches, Farol is about 22 meters high and is located within the beautiful Santo Antônio da Barra Fort. Built in the 17th century to protect All Saints Bay, today the beautiful monument has become one of the most famous and detected tourist spots in the city. Tumbled by the Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage of Brazil for being the first military building in the country, or housing fort or nautical museum and other incredible attractions.
At Farol da Barra I did a lot of cool things. But the main thing was to face the climb to the top to contemplate one of the most beautiful landscapes of the city. There are about 100 steps that will take you to enjoy a beautiful landscape of the neighborhood, and especially the Bay of All Saints. I visited the Nautical Museum of Bahia, which rescues the history of navigation and the evolution of nautical science. There I found a rich collection that has equipment, maps and replicas of vessels. Behind Barra Lighthouse I watched the sunset, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen!
Located on Farol da Barra Beach, about 5 km from the city center, to reach Farol da Barra in Salvador from the center, you can go by car or by public transport. Using the car is one of the most comfortable and comfortable options, so you can enjoy the trip without wasting time. To go by car one of the best ways is by Av. Centenário from where it gives access to Av. Oceânica, place of the beach. The path is easy and very well signposted. If you go by bus, you can take the line 0720-01 VL Rui Barbosa, at Carlos Gomes Street, get off at Airosa Galvão Street and walk for 10 minutes to the beach. Or, take the 1633 Periperi ↔ Ondina Viewpoint (Circular), just down the street, get off at Avenida Sete De Setembro - Spanish Hospital and walk about 7 minutes to Farol da Barra Beach.

One of the best areas of the city: great ocean view, great places to eat, drink and have fun. And the beach is gorgeous. Just go behind the "Farol da Barra" and appreciate the sunset and the Itaparica island view. It is priceless.

This is definitely one of the better things to do in Salvador. You can tour the entire lighthouse and climb all the way to the top. Entrance is R$15 per person. It gives you a history of the Portugese coming to Brazil. There is a decent amount of description in English. Museum doesn't open on Mondays. It is a great spot to watch the sun go down over Salvador.

Dear Fiona, thank you very much for your comments. We are glad that you had a great time at the lighthouse and could learn more about the history of the Portuguese coming to Brazil. Next time you come, probably we will have a coffee shop with jazz and brasilian music to enjoy the ocean view and have a drink at sun set.
Best regards,
Prefeitura Municipal de Salvador

To get in Farol da Barra is not difficult, depending on where you are, it may take a while to arrive, but it is pratical and quite easy, just request an uber, taxi or even go by bus. Generally the buses that pass in Farol da Barra are: Ondina and Barra.
Well, there is great place to meet friends, sit on the grass, talk, have fun, walk your pet, walk, bathe in the sea, surf, take beautiful pictures, meet new people, ride a bike, skate, it is also a great place for a good meal as there are many restaurants close by
I would recommend the Farol da Barra because it is a place that i like, I've been to it several times, it's a very nice environment, it is a beautiful place, very well policed (safe), it has a sensational sunset and it is a great place to have a good memory.

Qual a melhor maneira de visitar Farol Itapuã... ônibus.. uber?
Written November 9, 2023
