Good to know there are people who care about the environment and do something about it. You can tell it's out of love.

We visited this place and saw the sharks being fed and the small turtles being dug up. Very nice experience.
They should however consider the wellfare of the turtles and not let them stay in such small pools. It’s a discrace that a place that is supposed to help the animals are not spending any efforts in ensuring good conditions for the turtles. A turtle need more space than 3x3 meters in a pool with nothing else than water!

This museum explore the turtle preservation marketing (Tamar project - a non-profit organization dedicated to preserve the sea turtles in Brazilian Shores). In name of the preservation of turtles (ha ha ha), they made a "turtle zoo" with no attractions, only few species. The place has not enough infrastructure, where the people made great lines to restroom, no water fountains, and the turtles are living in a dirty, and without maintenance, tanks. The gift shop has a sort of overpriced items that I refused to buy anything. What a shame place.I'll never back there again. Also, I hope you never do there too.

This is a wonderful place to learn more about the local turtle population and the importance of it to the local economy and ecosystem. Many docents around to share facts and information. Not a big place and you see everything in about 90 minutes. A few other marine animals to see. Great for children. Very interactive.

Projeto Tamar in Praia do Forte: a relevant , well organized initiative to sensibilize the people - expecially the young generation, but not only - for a nice future of the our world.
