We are highily recommended by the best travel book and through the best travel foruns what most count to receive excellent reviews is our experience working for many years in tourism and that we take you deep in the jungle where only the local people and our jungle lodge base are there no other lodge is near to us, we have the best recommendation through the best traveller books and through the best traveler foruns. Sustainable tourism is our priority, we are the only Tourism agency who has done several social services around our Amazonian region for several times. Amazon Gero Tours advises you: Please, do not trust unauthorized people at the airport using good companies names to offer you tourism information, taxi or jungle tours, do pay attention when they approach you in front of the hostels even if they say they work for the hotel. Some Hostels and Hotels staffs use to offer you Jungle tours, jungle lodges or boat tours that they have never seen, just because a fat commission.

I spent about one week at the Amazon with Gero in the end of August '16. There is not much to say - it was just amazing. - well organised transfer (for example: pick up at the airpot, very easy transfer to the jungle lodge...) - I got a lot of information about the tour in the office in Manaus... We stayed at the Gero Tours Ararinha lodge for 6 days, 5 nights. Everything was perfectly organized: transport by car, bus, boat, the stay, the tours etc. We were informed about what to pack, about mosquitos ect. before the tour, which was very helpful. The food was very good and the staff nice. We slept in the dorm, which was... More

Amazon Gero Tours is a great way to see the jungle and experience the way people live on the Amazon...I contacted Gero just the night before and he arranged for Luis (who was a really cool guy, sorry if I got your name wrong, lol) to pick me up at my hotel the next morning. Gero even customized my stay... More

What a great experience this was. I got picked up from the airport (for free) and from there on everything went smoothly. I was initially planning to start the next day, but since there was not much to do in Manaus on Sundays I could start straight away. The way to the lodge was adventurous but very well organised. The... More

Visited the Amazon last year....and after looking at many places, trusted the reviews in tripadvisor and booked Gero Tours... Confirmed my booking, including airport pickup without even expecting an advance from me.....very accommodating to customer requests. Amazing staff and well trained and knowledgeable guides... For people who are planning a trip to Amazon.....My Suggestion......Just go for It. Cheers, Chandra

I went to Gero Tours and was amazing! Great people, and great experience, I went by myself, and I had a really nice group and the people of Gero Tours was really nice, kind and helpful! We fished Piranhas, swim in the Amazonas river, saw slots and much more! I really encourage people to do it!

Me and my friend, 19 and 20 years old from Norway, were very happy with our stay. We stayed 3 nights, 4 days at the lodge, and slept in hammocks which were more than comfortable enough. The activities were interesting and you could to some extent choose which ones you wanted to be a part of. I really recommend staying... More

Four of us spent 4 days and 3 nights in the Amazon Jungle. Booked in advance through amazon Geru. Generally easy to contact beforehand and replied to emails. Paid a deposit beforehand which was probably not necessary. Impressed that they offered to pay for the fee I paid on my deposit transfer and were generally very accommodating before we left.... We did a 4 day Tour with Gero and it was amazing. Ismael was our guide, and he is the best. He grew up near the lodge and know the jungle from top to bottom. He is spots animals (sloths, snakes, caymans, etc) from sometimes hundreds of meters away. This guy has superpowers! His English is very good and he... More

We went on a five day tour back in January 2014. Nigel was our guide and he was fabulous. Full of information and at one point he jumped in the Amazon river in the middle of the night to catch a small cayman for us to see. He brought his two adorable sons, both of whom were very smart and... More

Hello Chris and others,

I have read a lot about Gero Tours on Trip Advisor..Sounds wonderful......sched to go w/ my wife on a trip in late October. Will stay at the camp in a private room and go trecking as well.

Then 3 days in Miami....( Also connecting in Miami from N.J. on way down).

We will have suitcases for Miami......but not sure about some Gero logistics....so I was wondering if anyone could help us....

Does Gero have a place they can stash our suitcase or should we leave it in storage somewhere like our hotel in Manaus or in Miami airport?

Should we bring a standard backpack ( I have an external frame pack I've used for years ) .....and use this to take to the camp area?

What type of packing or luggage did you bring to the Gero's camp?

Did you need a full backpack on the Trecking part of the trip? Or can you manage with a small day pack for what you ended up needing to bring?

How and when did you pay Geraldo....did you bring local currency with you or did you exchange there.....or does Geraldo take US currency?

What type of clothing did you wear for trecking? We're a little concerned about mosquitos and mosquito borne disease...Dengue etc.......I know we are going at dry season but were people using shorts and short sleves or should be we wearing long pants and long sleves? Were mosquito's a problem?

What clothing did you sleep in while trecking?

Any info about any of this would be so helpful......Thanks.....glad everyone had such a good time....we hope to as well !
