We are highily recommended by the best travel book and through the best travel foruns what most count to receive excellent reviews is our experience working for many years in tourism and that we take you deep in the jungle where only the local people and our jungle lodge base are there no other lodge is near to us, we have the best recommendation through the best traveller books and through the best traveler foruns. Sustainable tourism is our priority, we are the only Tourism agency who has done several social services around our Amazonian region for several times. Amazon Gero Tours advises you: Please, do not trust unauthorized people at the airport using good companies names to offer you tourism information, taxi or jungle tours, do pay attention when they approach you in front of the hostels even if they say they work for the hotel. Some Hostels and Hotels staffs use to offer you Jungle tours, jungle lodges or boat tours that they have never seen, just because a fat commission.

Right at the airport Gero offered me to take me o my hostel for free. At first I had my doubts about stepping in the car with a complete stranger, but soon it turned out to be the right decision. Gero is such a great person! Even before taking me to the hostel, he took me to his house where... More

Amazing 4 days. Billy, our tour guide from a native village in the Amazone, was knowledgeable, climbed up trees to retrieve sloths, pulled Caymen and frogs out of the water, and most of all was hilarious when it came to his knowledge of popular English sayings. We had an amazing jungle experience. Mind you, be prepared a little when sleeping... More

As a loan traveller, Gero tours was absolutely perfect for me. They picked me up from the airport and took me straight to the Gero office and my hostel. The tour itself was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life - the journey there by two boats and two cars is a pretty exciting experience in itself and... More

Overall - a good tour. The airport pickups in the middle of the night, the knowledgeable and friendly staff, the transportation back and forth, the lodge itself, the excursions were all great. There was however a mishap since my guide went back to Manaus after 2.5 days, and 'handed me over' to another guide with an existing group. However, there... More

Aside from the great experience spending four days in the Amazon jungle, Gero Tours offered the best customer service I've ever experienced in my life. The customer service: Gero quickly responded to my request for a tour with plenty of detailed info about what would be included, and helpful information for me to be prepared for my tour there. He... First I have to mention what happened when I got to the Manaus airport, whether I want to or not. After going through customs by about 9:00pm, I could not find my promised pick up by anyone from Amazon Gero, which was a cause for A LOT of stress for a solo traveler at night after a long day of... We opted for the 3 days/2 nights boat tour with air conditioned rooms. Excellent guide (Selmo), really knew the region, fauna and flora. Went for a hike and boat rides in the jungle, saw lots of monkeys, birds, dolphins (pink and grey).Took us on evening/night boat rides exploring alligators and snakes in the dark. The rooms were good The food... More

Great tour company. I was trying to decide between 5 Amazon tour companies prior to my trip to Brazil and I am so glad that I chose Gero Tours, sight unseen. From the emails back and forth with Gero, to the airport pickup with Carlos, to the guys in the office (Luis loaned me his own money since I arrived... More

I spent three weeks in Brazil, and absolutely loved the country. This trip was without a doubt my highlight though. In fact, it's probably the most enjoyable four days I've spent traveling. The tour guides are what really made the trip for me. We stayed in a lodge in a remote Amazon village, and there were several guides around. Every... More

Hello Chris and others,

I have read a lot about Gero Tours on Trip Advisor..Sounds wonderful......sched to go w/ my wife on a trip in late October. Will stay at the camp in a private room and go trecking as well.

Then 3 days in Miami....( Also connecting in Miami from N.J. on way down).

We will have suitcases for Miami......but not sure about some Gero logistics....so I was wondering if anyone could help us....

Does Gero have a place they can stash our suitcase or should we leave it in storage somewhere like our hotel in Manaus or in Miami airport?

Should we bring a standard backpack ( I have an external frame pack I've used for years ) .....and use this to take to the camp area?

What type of packing or luggage did you bring to the Gero's camp?

Did you need a full backpack on the Trecking part of the trip? Or can you manage with a small day pack for what you ended up needing to bring?

How and when did you pay Geraldo....did you bring local currency with you or did you exchange there.....or does Geraldo take US currency?

What type of clothing did you wear for trecking? We're a little concerned about mosquitos and mosquito borne disease...Dengue etc.......I know we are going at dry season but were people using shorts and short sleves or should be we wearing long pants and long sleves? Were mosquito's a problem?

What clothing did you sleep in while trecking?

Any info about any of this would be so helpful......Thanks.....glad everyone had such a good time....we hope to as well !
