As I sit down to write this review, I see that others have already written it for me -- I wholeheartedly "second" all of the comments of both "michaelaG4009EK" ("The most amazing trip ever") and "dtravelerWy" ("Peacocks on the Rio Negro"). I want only to add even more superlatives for fishing manager and expedition leader extraordinnaire Michael and his guides, staff and hosts -- each and every one of them. They welcome every guest wholeheartedly into their special Nomadic Waters family for the week and ensure that every aspect of the experience is as perfect as Mother Nature will allow (and does she ever allow wonderment on and along the Rio Negro). I was ready to join them again before I even departed the mothership on the final day of our adventure.

This outfitter is amazing, the mothership is a five-star floating hotel with amazing food and all the conveniences you could expect (including laundry on a daily bases) The people are out of this world. Every day when you get back from fishing they have appetizers and drinks waiting for you. The level of care is outstanding. Michael the fishing manager is great and willing to give you tips to improve your game. Mathew who is in charge of the mothership and all its ins and outs is extremely attentive to all the needs of his guest. The relationships you will build with the guides, crew, and fellow fishermen are life long. You are well-taking care of from the moment you land in Manaus. There is always someone to help translate and guide you during your trip. The fishing is out of this world. With the help of the guides and Michaels's tips and techniques for fishing in this fishery, you are guaranteed to catch fish. There are some real monsters here and if you are patient you will surely land some big fish. You will be fishing for most of the daylight hours so be ready for some long days. I say long days but they seem short when you out here. I was always ready to get back out there after each day ready to get my next big fish. This is an experience you can't miss out on. I will be returning many times to this amazing place with this great crew from Nomadic Waters.

This was one of the most amazing fishing trips of my life. Nomadic Waters dotted every i and crossed every T. Attention to detail, professionalism, and the overall experience was off the charts. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to visit the Amazon and target Peacock Bass. As an added bonus, we got to see some incredible birds, caiman, and other wildlife. I look forward to returning next year.

The overall experience with Nomadic Waters, from the first enquiry about their operation, to the last goodbye in Manaus, was A++, First Class. This was my first experience peacock bass fishing, first trip to the heart of the Amazon, first trip to Brazil. My expectations were exceeded in all respects. The planning process has been very well worked out by Nomadic Waters (NM). The communication as the trip approaches is extensive and frankly, they leave virtually no stone unturned. The staff was numerous, happy, and extremely helpful. The accomodations were well beyond any mother ship I've been on before. Food was very good but understandably limited in variety by the remoteness of the operation and supply chain. Although guides repeatedly said our fishing was not up to par, I found the numbers and strength of all 7 species I caught to be great. Two issues to be prepared for: the heat and humidity are oppressive; staff and guides speak little or no English and I spoke no Portuguese. All in all, this is a wonderful experience in an amazing environment, hosted by fantastic staff.

If you are a fly fisherman, you need to do this at least once in your life. From the time you are picked up at the airport till the time you are returned, an incredible experience by an incredible company.
