I have fished with Michael and the Nomadic crew 4 times now. After each trip I leave thinking that’s it, it can’t get better and each time I return to the Amazon I find more reasons to come back. While taking complete care of every step of your journey to and from Brazil, Michael finds a way to keep the same crew coming back season after season and despite the few words you share with them the bond is unbreakable. You will not find more professional or harder worker guides that will put you on fish day after day and quite possibly are more excited than you when you land them! The food is amazing and more options than you can believe could come from a small kitchen to feed as many people as it does! The boat itself is immaculate and comfortable and your room rivals most hotels you have stayed at. If you could have a complaint ( and you shouldn’t ) but it would be that you didn’t work hard enough for the opportunity and experience afforded to you by Nomadic Waters.

This was my first time fishing with Nomadic Waters and to say that it was the trip of a lifetime would be an understatement. Micheal and his crew will take care of every detail from transportation from the airport to the boat and everything in between with no detail left out to figure out on your own. His entire staff was professional and accommodating in every way and the mother ship was top notch with clean staterooms stocked with all you need for a week in the water. I couldn’t recommend them more if you are looking for a true Amazon fishing experience. I look forward to going back as soon as possible to the Amazon and wouldn’t consider anyone else besides Nomadic to go with.

This is the fifth year I have fished with Michael Williams and the Nomadic family. I have fished both of the fisheries more than once. The fishing demands I hone my casting skills (or lack there of) on the first day. If I'm not careful I can spend the first day in the trees apologizing to my guide for all the trouble. However, not once does my guide make me feel like the amateur I know I am. If anything, he makes me feel like I am better than I know I am! For someone on a fishing vacation, your own cheerleading section is a huge motivator.

The crew is top-shelf: very attentive, extremely encouraging, and they know where the fish are and how to get even me to find and hook the big ones.

The accommodations are first class: rooms are comfortable, there is hot water for those of us that insist on a hot shower even in the tropics, your clothes are washed daily, and the Brazilian food is typically delicious with a good variety to choose from.

Michael Williams leaves no details to chance. From the moment you land in Brazil, he has you covered at all levels.

This year I fished with my son which, in and of itself, was priceless. We will definitely be back!

Awesome fly fishing jungle adventure. Everything was first class and worry free. Great crew, great guides and great staff, plus you fish with the owner. Caught over 60 fish in 6 days, and fishing was slow! Got a 10lb plus Acu Peacock the last day. You will not be disappointed!

I have watched videos of big Peacock bass caught in the Amazon River and in its surrounding tributaries. Always thought that’s for someone else more adventurous than me. Fortunately I have a good friend who has been Peacock Bass flyfishing on the Amazon. He invited me join him and a group of friends for 6 days of flyfishing on the Amazon with Nomadic Waters.
First off to organize this trip on my own would have been logistically difficult. Nomadic Waters makes it simple by packaging your every need. They have all the base covered including an option to use their travel agent to book flights and hotel stays in Manaus for before and after the fishing portion of the trip. I highly recommend you take up the option. Nomadic Waters will tell you what you need to have a successful trip. The fishing was as advertised. Incredible peacock bass fishing with plenty of big fish. It was truly quality and quantity of fish. Plus a number of species such as Arowana. Piranha, Jacumba and many more. You have a chance to see caimens, crocodiles, pink dolphin, river otters and monkeys. There is an unbelievable number of bird species to be viewed and the sounds of the birds in the morning was intoxicating to the ears. Your stay on the river is in a luxurious ship. A chef prepares appetizers and 3 meals a day. You certainly eat well. Beer and wine is included. You fishing from tracker bass boats with a different guide everyday. The crew for Nomadic Waters made this a most enjoyable experience. They even provide daily laundry. They catered to your every need. 6 days of fishing was perfect. If you need fishing equipment Nomadic waters offers a package which includes the fly rods and flies. I would give Nomadic Waters 10 stars if I could.

Just completed my number one on my bucket list and it met all my expectations and more. The trip to the Amazon was amazing!, hard to comprehend the vastness of this area, totally mind blowing. Michael and his team were fantastic will all aspects of the trip, from what to pack to helping us through every step to get us through the airports hassle free. The fishing was fantastic! Fishing from the Bass Tracker boats was very comfortable and stable. I caught my largest lifetime fish and it was beautiful.
The rooms were wonderful, air conditioning in the Amazon, what a luxury. Our laundry was done every day so no need for a lot of clothes. The guides and staff were fantastic. Meals were local Brazilian favorites, very good.
A trip of my lifetime! I will return.
Thank you to Michael and his wonderful crew.

This was a perfectly excellent trip. We caught beautiful Amazon fish: Peacock Bass! The crew on the boat was very caring and took care of everything. They were happy and it showed in everything they did for us. The fishing guides were tops. The Williams family was also amazing making the travel as easy as possible and our stay on the boat comfortable and just plain fun. We are thinking of doing it again!

If you are looking for an absolute top drawer fly fishing experience, look no further. From the outstanding guides to the chefs and support staff to the air-conditioned accommodations, the entire team of professionals at Nomadic Waters is at the very top. Michael Williams had created an client-focused operation that is founded on warmth, joy and family, and it shows in every detail. As an owner / opearator, I appreciate having Michael aboard all of his trips. Oh, and the fishing? It was absolutely world class, always focused on optimizing each fly angler's experience level. I've had the good fortune of travelling all over the globe and those Rio Negro peacock bass are among the most exciting I've ever pursued. I cannot wait to return next year!

I have had the great pleasure of getting to know Michael Williams and Nomadic Waters through the fly fishing show. As an industry professional, outfitter, and fisherman I have heard plenty of tall tales in regards to fishing. Anything you can read or watch on fishing the Amazon is a SIGNIFICANT understatement- including this.

The operation brings comfort in class into what is likely one of the most remote spots on the planet. The food is exceptional and the crew is willing to accommodate and palate. For example, we wanted to eat traditional Brazilian food. I’ve now had piranha and arapaima cooked every imaginable way - all of which were delicious.

The fishing is was really makes this place special. Have you ever broke a fly line pulling on a fish? You probably will here. I’m a trout fisherman by profession and what we do is a well coordinated ballet. Peacock bass fishing is a bear knuckled brawl. An absolute thrill for anyone that enjoys pulling flies. If you want to hunt big ones you sure can. If you want to put a hundred fish over the rail, you can do that too.

Rest assured this is a trip that will blow your mind and leave you longing to return to the Amazon.

Weeks later I am still basking in the glow of one of the most extraordinary journeys of my more than 60 years of travels. This was my second trip with Nomadic Waters and, once again, Michael Williams and his team created a flawless experience for incorrigible anglers in one of the most remarkable places on earth -- this time in a remote camp deep in the jungle in Amazonas. The Nomadic team blend appreciation and respect for world class angling, the remarkable Amazon environment, the extraordinary people of Amazonas, and the equally remarkable guests that Nomadic attracts and that I have been privileged to share water, adventure and memorable times with.
