It is not easy to admit that you were duped, but it would be unethical not to alert other travellers of the dangerous, disorganized and frankly exploitative operation run by Eduardo of Amazon Deep Jungle Tours. We were promised a unique, well-organized tour package that would take us by boat and sea plane to a pristine area full of wild life and with magnificent rapids, far away from civilization and with ample opportunity to fish and hunt. This tour furthermore, would be guided by Eduardo himself as he would take us to the area where his family hailed from and where the money from our tour would help support social initiatives. Sadly enough, none of these promises came to pass. We hardly saw any wildlife, the rapids were not visible during the season we went, no sea planes were included in our itinerary and while the area we were in turned out to be a nature reserve in which it was illegal to hunt and fish, it could hardly be called pristine. Also, despite explicit promises to guide us himself, we never actually got to see Eduardo in the flesh. Instead we were treated to a barrage of increasingly erratic voice notes, appearing at every interval except at times when we discovered yet another mistake that would cost us precious time in the jungle. This included messing up the date of our arrival, meaning that no immediate connection was available but it also included not paying the guides in Maraã that were supposed to take us deep into the forest. What made this even more deplorable was that these guides were members of Eduardo's own family and yet he blatantly exploited them, telling them there was no money available to buy supplies or pay them even though every single person in our party had paid him well in advance. We were later shocked to find out just how little of the money of our tour they were seeing, as the majority of the money was pocketed by Eduardo, who locked his family away in poverty while he himself was living the high life in Manaus. Aside from exploiting his family and attracting new victims to scam, it does not appear that Eduardo actually does anything for the tour. He sure as hell is not interested in guaranteeing the safety of travellers, as he send us into an area that was plagued by river pirates (something we only heard about when we were already in the area of danger and this in the same period that saw the murder of British journalist Dom Philips and Brazilian expert Bruno Pereira in an area not that far away from where we were) and at least one of the members of our travelling party got dangerously ill due to food served on the way. In all my years of travelling, I have never before encountered such a maliciously incompetent tour organizer and I duly hope I will never have to repeat the experience. I hope this warning saves other travellers the hardship that my travel companions and I have been through. The Amazon is a beautiful place and it deserves better. What's more, so do the local people and so do you as a traveller. Please put your money to good use elsewhere and do not support crooks.

We did everything that was promised in the internet and much more during our 4D/3N. Our guide Cabeludo (Tonielle) was amazing. He told us so much about the jungle and his own life and experiences. We always returned to the lodge at some point during the day, but also spend one night in the jungle and one at a Locals house. Our group size varied as we arrived with another couple and joined a couple who was already there. Both left a night earlier then us. So during the last day, a tourist from the other group joined us or it was just the two of us and the guide. All in all, this is perfect, if you want to get an overall experience of all kind of activities in the jungle and have a fully planned trip including all kinds of transportation and accommodation. Cabeludo also organizes survival trips etc. If you want to get more information and maybe plan the trip yourself according to your own preferences, contact me through https://saltys-world.jimdosite.com/

My family of 4 recently did the Amazing 4 day, 3 nights deep jungle tour with our amazing tour guide- Toniel (thank god he can speak good English). We were promptly picked up by the cab from our hotel in Manaus and taken to the meeting point across the river with our luggage etc to meet our tour guide - Toniel - He is a cool dude !!. We all travelled another 2-3 hrs in van and boats to the lodge where we were staying for the next 3 nights. The transport guys helped us with our luggage loading and unloading all the way. The lodge facility was amazing, clean rooms, air conditioning, hot showers, great breakfast and meals cooked by the lodge owners family. Frankly we did not expect the great quality of food and service we received. Brazilians are great hosts. Toniel - our guide is a local tribal and very knowledgeable of the area and the surroundings. He is very friendly, patient and was accommodating all our requests to change itinerary or schedules as needed, He wanted us to have a good time which we did. he caught a young caymon with bare hands in the dark and fished piranhas with us. He made a artistic fan and tiara crowns from the palm tree branches from the jungle, he is very artistic. W experiences lot of rainfall ( it a rainforest what do you expect !!) and was fun and relaxing watching the Amazonian rains from the comforts of our lodge, laying in hammocks. We visited a local tribal family and saw their small homes huts made out of jungle resources and their lifestyle. On the last day we were transported safely with all of us with luggage back to the lodge in Manaus well in time. We cherish the memories we created there and would love to come back in future and experience more of this in another season maybe. Appreciate Eduardo for the coordination and giving us a great experience. All the way - enquiring about the trip to booking with advance payment using paypal account, Eduardo has been in close communication with me over Whatsapp. I highly recommend others to consider Eduardo's tour company for your future travel plans to Amazon and hope you all have a great time as we did. All the best. enjoy !!!
