This is the picture that appears on most brochures or guides for Trebinje. I stood in the same spot and took the exact same one, its lovely. If like us you're wondering is it (Trebinje) worth a visit? It most certainly is. A beautiful old town with a very laid back cafe atmosphere and very tourist friendly. Its 30 minutes run from the border with Croatia through open countryside. As you enter the outskirts of the town its very apparent that this reflects the Yugoslavia of old, the town centre however is lovely and we wish we had allowed more time to visit, next time we may stay a night. The people were lovely and the staff at the local Tourist Information spoke excellent english and bent over backwards to accommodate our enquiries.

I ran across a blog about Trebinje and decided to look into adding the city to our trip to Bosnia & Herzegovina. I emailed Marko, and he put together a fantastic itinerary that was very affordable. He picked us up from Mostar, and on the way to Trebinje, took us to the necropolis Stolac , Vjetrenica cave, Monastery Tvrdos, and then to a farm where a delightful woman made us a traditional, delicious meal. The next day Marko took us all around Montenegro. And our final day, he started with an interesting city tour which included a lively outdoor market, and then headed to three vastly different wineries. Afterwords, he dropped us off in Dubrovnik.
My husband & I agree that the experience with Marko really made our overall trip fantastic....and thank goodness I added Trebinje to our itinerary. Marko was so informative, easy going, and was an absolute pleasure to meet. Highly, highly recommended!

Fantastic tour with Marko, who managed to cut a perfect, personal tour from Mostar to Trebinje with plenty of interesting stops. Trust him on his suggestions and his detours, you can see he definitely loves his job - and, as you go further into Trebinje territory, he definitely becomes more and more passionate and knowledgeable ;-) culture, wines, nature, there seems to be anything that he does not know about. And what I appreciated more, is that for the full day we felt like staying with a friend, rather than with a 'simple' guide who was just there to do his job. I will definitely come back to Trebinje - on a side note, SHOULD YOU GO TO BOSNIA, GO THERE, IT'S FANTASTIC - and I will get back to Marko for sure, both as a guide and as a friend. Highly recommended to everybody!

Marko was great! We left it to him to choose the wineries for us to visit, and we were not disappointed. We tasted some delicious wine, learned about the local culture and history, and even had some snacks along the way. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone interested in trying some local wines.

I found Captravelin through TripAdvisor. I decided to explore the honey and herb route on my way to Mostar. I emailed to Captravelin, and within 24 hours I get response from Marko's colleague Milica and was told that Marko was not available on the travel date i requested, and she will be my tour guide during my transfer from Trebinje to Mostar. From the start, Milica already did a great job in customising the itinerary and explaining the journey to me.
During the tour date, she arrived ahead of time at my accommodation and started the trip to Latsva and surrounds. Milica started to tell me the history of Former Yugoslavia towards the presence day of Bosnia. She also gave me a very good insights on Republic of Srpska. We visited the local green market at Trebinje and Milica brought me to a local restaurant and food was just superb. The journey continued to Tvrdoš monastery, wine cellar. I have the chances to sample different wines. We then visited Popovo to try local honey and herb products. The entire highlight started with the visit of Vjetrenica cave and exploring this windy cave. When we arrived at Ljubinj, Milica also introduced me to her local friend, who is a book author and we have the chance to explore the town and visiting a local home to sample some rakija and ham. We stopped by Stolac before arriving at my accommodation in Mostar.
I would like to thank Milica of connecting me with the locals within the area and her great knowledge and experiences of the areas and the country. She ran the tour in a professional manner and also humorous way. I have no hesitation in recommending Milica and Captravelin when you want to have local experience and get connected to BIH countrysides and sampling local food and wine. I will definitely use the service again if I visit Bosnia in the future.

We had a great time in Trebinje thanks to Marko. He organized our transfers in and out of BH, and did a great guided tour for us. I kept changing our plans, even the day before the trip, but nothing was trouble to Marko. I think the highlight was the wine tasting he arranged at a small family-run winery, it ended up as 2 hour lunch with great food and wine.

3 of my friends and I went to Trebinje to explore the area and visit some wineries. One of my friends found Marko who could give us a tour and take us around to some wineries. Marko was wonderful. He was so nice and very knowledgeable. The wineries he picked were amazing. This visit and tour were definitely a big highlight of an already awesome trip. Thanks,Marko!

3 friends and I had the opportunity to visit Trebinje in September 2017. 2 of us visited the area on a day trip from Dubrovnik in 2015 but we wanted to come back and have more time to explore. The area around Trebinje was well-known for wine and agriculture and my friends were up for some wine tasting and a tour of the verdant countryside. We knew that we would need a designated driver as well as some assistance in organizing which wineries to visit. I stumbled across Marko's website while doing research and our afternoon with him was the highlight of our 12 days in the area. Marko was excellent at communicating and promptly responded to all my questions. He met us at our hotel in downtown Trebinje right on time and drove us to a total of three locally-owned wineries. The word "hospitality" doesn't begin to express how kind and gracious everyone was. Each winery was generous with the tastings and put out impressive spreads of cheese, prosciutto, and freshly baked breads. 2 of the wineries even presented bunches of grapes and figs plucked from the vines and trees just for us! Marko and the vintners did an incredible job of providing background on the region, its history, and the grape varietals. Between winery visits, Marko took us on a tour of the city and allowed stops for beautiful photos. We found winery quality and prices to be outstanding - so much that we needed to buy another bag to fly our purchases to Chicago. A tour with Marko is a must-do for anyone visiting Trebinje and the area is well-worth a day trip from Dubrovnik. Herzegovina is a beautiful area with a rich history and Marko was the perfect guide.

Captravelin is more of a photo opportunity than an attraction as such. In a town where most of the buildings are less than 100 years old, Captravelin is an attractive collection of older, coloured buildings situated next to the main road bridge across the river. For the best view, cross the bridge and admire the near perfect reflection in the shallow waters.

Captravelin is a place located in the old town of Trebinje, on the River Trebišnjica bank. Trebinje is the main city of the wine in the Southeast of Bosnia&Herzegovina, It is one of the best pictures of the city, and probably the most known. You can see some old buildings (totally maintained) perfectly reflected in the river, it is a very nice view. In fact, if you like very much to take photos and it is a sunny day, preferably with few clouds, take the camera! It will be one of the best photos you take in the region.
