We had a great 3D/2N pampas tour with our guide Alex. He is so friendly, fun and especially knowledgeable about the animals and people that inhabit the jungle. The food was also very well taken care off (we were with 2 carnivores and 2 vegetarians, and both had so much choice) and the rooms (private matrimonials) were clean and nice. Indigena Tours also personalized our pampas itinerary and booked our flight tickets without any additional costs. Cannot recommend this organisation enough!

We really liked our trip to the Pampas with Indigena Tours! Alex was a knowledgeable and fun guide who brought us to the less touristy spots where we saw many special animals. Additionally, the accommodation was amazing, especially considering we were staying in the Amazon (see pictures). Of course, there were some bugs (all precautions were taken to ensure there were as few bugs in our room as possible), but if you don’t like bugs, the Pampas are probably not the place for you ;). Also, the people from Indigena were very friendly and happy to help if we needed anything. Finally, the food was great as well. Some dishes were traditional Bolivian and others more Western, and they all tasted good. Way better quality than we expected from the Pampas beforehand!

Four of us got the 2N3D pampas tour and really enjoyed it. The guide Alex was great and spoke English. The food and accommodation was great. The activities were brilliant and we saw an anaconda, caught piranhas and swam with pink dolphins. They also helped us with transport getting there.

We (myself and my sister) generally really enjoyed our trip to the Pampas. The location was stunning and the three days were jam packed with activities. The food was amazing and different diets were well catered for. The lodge was basic but had what was needed including individual mosquito nets for the bed.
To start with our guide was good natured and enthusiastic, pointing out lots of animals and putting a lot of effort into positioning the boat for us to get a good look and pictures etc. He did not have a lot of knowledge but told us the names of the animals and what they ate, how big they got etc etc.
On the second day we went looking for anacondas. The first problem was they did not have wellies the right sizes, despite there only being three in our group. My sister ended up wearing a mismatched pair, one of which had a massive hole in!
We were told we would be out for two and a half hours, three max and so bought water and suncream for this amount of time. We were not told what to look for and seemed just to be running round the fields after him. He left us for increasingly long periods of time (four times in total) with no explanation other than ‘wait one minute’. The final time he left us alone, by the side of a river full of caiman and alligators, for over 45 minutes. This was highly unsafe and unprofessional - we did not know where we were or how to contact anyone or indeed what he was doing!! We were worried for his welfare as well as we could not see him and there were plenty of potential problems he could have gotten into. He finally returned carrying an anaconda, and when we asked why he’d been so long he just told us to gather round and take photos. We did not want him to pick up and move the anaconda - that is exactly the opposite of responsible ecotourism but when we tried to explain this he became extremely angry and stormed off. We tried to keep up but one girl in our group really could not and it was left to me to try and get the guide to wait, which he was not willing to do for more than 10 seconds at a time. By this point we had been out for four and a half hours, everyone had run out of water and we were in an open field under the full heat of the sun. It was utterly ridiculous and once again very unsafe. It took a further hour of half marching half running to get back to the boat and after this incident our guide never really became friendly again and put a lot less effort into the tour.
Being left alone for such long periods and the treatment of the anaconda were far from ideal, but what really ruined it for me was how our guide reacted - so childish and unprofessional.
We did enjoy the rest of the trip and swimming with dolphins is an experience I will never forget, but I think this guide needs some serious training!!

We had an absolute ball on our pampas tour with Indigena.
The tour agent, Mercedes had brilliant English and was super polite and helpful. When we found out we were the only ones on our tour and expressed a desire to have company, she went out if her way to find a tour group would would be willing to transfer their customers onto our tour. Then we had some delightful French companions for our trip.
Our tour guide, Victor, was funny, relaxed and knowledgeable and knew a lot of English. He knew the pampas area super well, we found monkeys, birds, piranhas, and swam with cheeky pink dolphins. We saw all the animals we wanted to see. And when we didn't find an anaconda he went out of his way to take us on an additional unscheduled boat ride to find more animals to make up for it. Swimming with the dolphins was both scary and amazing and I wouldn't have traded that amazing experience for the world.
The food was awesome and plentiful, we came out super stuffed every meal. They can easily cater for vegetarians.
The accommodation is simple, cold water showers only, mosquito mesh for windows, old but comfortable beds with animals sounds sometimes making you jump at night. But it was also a relaxing experience being away from the modern world and so close to nature.
As Indigena doesn't have an office in La Paz, do allow at least a week to book your tour via email or WhatsApp with Mercedes as the internet in Rurrenabaque is not the best and it will take several days to nut out all your options and pick one and get it booked, and then meet up with a freelancing Indigena agent in La Paz to pay your initial deposit (we paid a 30% deposit in cash to the agent in La Paz who gave us reciepts, then paid the rest by card in Rurrenabaque).
Also, top tip, put on your insect repellent under your long pants. Those mosquitoes bite through the fabric!

We had guide Victor - we do not recommend him! The van ride took around 3 hrs from ruranebaque to the river this was very bumpy and often got stuck in the mud a few times - we then took a 2hr boat ride to the accomodation - along the way we could see many caman (crocodiles), pink river dolphin heads appearing in the water, turtles in and outside the water and many different birds - the food was good with soup, meat, salads, potatoes each meal - you need to take clothing to cover your skin from the mosquitos they are bigger and relentless, use mosquitos repellent along with baggy white if possible clothing (mosquitos bite through tight clothing) - it made our time miserable with all out mozzi bites - interventions such as a smoke bucket was needed but not provided even when asked, especially, during the prihanna fishing we caught 1x catfish but no prirhana fish - we went anaconda hunting but we had no luck and did not see - Guide Victor was unhelpful, unenthusiastic and miserable - he did the bare minimum and even got us carrying his things.

Really nice tour, always respectful of the environment. Antonio knows really a lot about nature and animals, it's really impressive !
Really nice activities, and amazing food as well (the best so far in Bolivia, in the middle of nowhere!).
Christian at the agency and our guide spoke a perfect English.
I really recommend.

My partner and I did a 2 night pampas tour with Indigena Tours. All of our interactions with staff were positive and they were more than happy to help answer any questions we had. Mercedes in the Rurre office was extremely helpful when we booked our tour and was quick to respond to our emails when we were planning. She held our big bags at the office for us when we went into the jungle. We were the only 2 people on our tour which worried us at first but it wasn’t an issue as we had plenty of opportunities to meet other people at our lodge and from other tour groups at the jungle bars. Victor our tour guide was amazing and went above and beyond! He took us out at night on the river to look for caimans which was very scary but also beautiful because of the stars. He was very easy going and let us decide what we wanted to do which we appreciated. The food on the tour was delicious and there was so much, we didn’t need snacks. Thanks Indigena Tours!

A friend and I did the Pampas 3 day tour with Indigena tours and totally fell in love with the place. As it was low season we were the only two people on the tour but were surprised to find that they still ran it for us. Our guide Victor was so lovely and accomodating, he made us feel very looked after the whole time. We also managed to spot many amazing animals on the tour including caimans, pink river dolphins, cobras, capybara, turtles, and many birds. We also received fantastic service from the lady in the office who checked our flight status and called ahead to our bus company in la Paz. Thanks for everything!

Very nice tour. The ladies at the agency made sure everything was taken care of for us. They let us store our bags, showed where to go in rurrenbaque, bought a busticket for the way back and ordered us a tuktuk to the bus terminal. Great!
Than the tour itself of course, the tour was very nice the programs is good, there’s always something nice coming up. We saw a lot of animals. Pink dolphins monkeys alligators many birds. Unfortunately not the anaconda but that was due to the season. The guide was sometimes a a little pending. We had to ask information about the surrounding. The lodge is up for renovation thus the little mess we took for granted. Nice beds with hammocks.
