Historical place

Old building, authentic and very old. Enough beautiful view on the square.A lot of native people in a hurry for arriving and dispatching for the trains.

with the Spanish (moorish) decorations which has been kept - this is one of the most interesting and worth visiting places in Oran

Built by the French, the train main station is a a place to visit. The architecture is on neo mauresque style. The station link Oran to the nearby cities (Tlemcen, sidi belabes, ain temouchent, Algiers...)

I always book the 8am train heading to Algiers and never did it fail its schedule. I also took the train back to Oran, from Agha Algiers station and it was always on time. for $9 (900dzd) economy ticket, and $13.2 (1320dzd) for the first class.

Nice piece of architecture, worth the photo opportunity a pretty station which feels small scale. Theres a "high speed" train service on to alger here - journey time 5hrs - recommend 1st class it costs little more.

It's worth getting some exercise and walking out to the train station to soak in the slow decay of Oran's colonial heritage. The station building is quite attractive and in relatively good condition. No-one objected to me walking around inside and clicking some pics.

A remarkable building, dating from the 19th Century but in Moorish style evoking a desert fortress. The ceiling of the booking hall is definitely worth a look, even if you aren't taking a rail journey.
