The large Ebu Bekr Mosque, which is the focal point of the local Muslim community, dominates Shkoder's city centre.Built on the side of old an Ottoman Mosque , the current mosque was built in 1995 with funds from Saudi Arabia and Egypt and the official name is Sheik Zamil Abdullah Al -Zamil Mosque. The Ebu Bekr Mosque has been extensively renovated in 2008. The inside is bright yet a bit plain .

Beautiful place with a great architecture. Very friendly persons and a calm place in the middle of a big city. It is known more commonly to locals as the Great Mosque. It dates back from the 18th century, but was fully renovated and refaced in 1995 with donations from Saudi Arabia. Take a look inside as visitors are welcome to enter outside prayer time to see the beautiful interior and enjoy the contemplative atmosphere.

Strolled around the beautiful city centre of Shkoder especially the pedestrian street of Pjaca/Rruga Kole Idromeno which was deserted in the afternoon. This tourist showcase street of Shkoder has a Grand Mosque named Al-Zamil Mosque ,a Orthodox church named Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ and a Catholic church named St Stephen's Catholic Cathedral in close proximity to each other on either sides of the street. The Al-Zamil Mosque is beautiful and the lawns well maintained. Shkoder has a large Christian Catholic and Muslim population with a minority of Orthodox Christians.

If you are in the city center you cannot miss this beautiful mosque. It's bright and shining. Worth seeing at night under the moon. The inside is nothing special. Better to seek a guide if you want to see from inside and want to understand the history and culture. As I stayed near it, I saw this mosque many times.

A rather attractive mosque set in a garden/park in the center of the city. The garden/park is a bit unmkempt but that is consistent with city parks in Shkodra. The mosque was locked up so we could not go inside.

This mosque is more impressive on the outside than the inside. Central location to the pedestrian shopping strip.
