Nice boat - toilet facilities available. Efficient and smooth crossing.
Bus was OK, and driver was vigilant in checking numbers - but was 25 minutes late picking us up, which made me unsure as to whether I was waiting at the correct location.

Yes, it is confusing. Yes, the staff are somewhat brusque. Yes, the high-speed ferry is dated. However, Finikas will get you between Corfu and Albania rapidly and safely. I feel many of these poor reviews are from people who don’t follow directions and expect first-class service in English. Keep in mind this is an Albanian company and most of the staff aren’t fluent in English. Additionally, their primary responsibility is ship-handling, not coddling passengers. Online ticketing is relatively easy; finding your way through the ports is fairly difficult. Get to the port early (in Corfu, it’s a long walk to the international terminal), ask questions, and be proactive. Keep a positive attitude and enjoy the ride — this may be the only time you are able to ride a hydrofoil vessel!

Lies.
No problem with the Check-out time. Good little quarter of an hour late! But we made the crossing Corfu-Saranda, then back. We took each time a ticket for a quick 35mn (so the most expensive).
It took him an hour and a half. On the way back, I am currently on it, the dimension is still far away and we have been on it for 35 minutes! So morality, don't respect his commitments. Take the cheapest you will also go "fast"! Great when we ordered a transfer on arrival!
Now 55mn still at sea 😔

Unlike these other recent reviews we certainly didn't get the great customer service that others did on their trips, including the woman in the office being rolling her eyes at me, and us and many others not being allowed through the Greek border due to an error by her.

I bought a couple of tickets for the fast boat to Corfu a month or so in advance. I received an email with proof of the payment going to Finikas Lines but no email with tickets. I emailed the company 3 times to query if they would be sent later or if we just picked them up in the office but never got a reply (found out at the office that other people HAD been sent their tickets).

The day before we checked the website to confirm the boat time, then on the morning we got to the office with plenty of time to sort out the tickets before our boat ride (we thought) along with having our PLF filled and ready. I told the woman at the desk that we'd bought tickets and showed her my proof of purchase. She seemed disgruntled that I didn't have my tickets ready, though they hadn't sent them. She asked for our PLF then told us it was wrong and we had to do another one, and that we were going by bus and not boat (at no point had anyone told us that the boat was cancelled). Naturally I queried if 'bus' was correct as she hadn't told us about how we were getting to Corfu. She just kept rolling her eyes at me and shooing us on and moved onto someone else.

We filled another PLF which wouldn't allow us to save as we'd already logged one, but the mobile site wouldn't give the option to edit the original so us and many others were then stuck without having a correct PLF. (Obviously the website for this is not the fault of Finikas, but if they'd told any of their customers in advance or even posted on their website about the boat cancellations this could have been accurate from the start).
The woman copied everyone's passports to sort the PLFs on the computer and sent us all on the coach to the border. Once there the driver gave us all updated PLFs. None of the information was correct anymore. I had been put on a PLF with 2 random Brits, and my partner (along with many others) received his back with a completely different entry date so we weren't allowed over the Greek border.
We were stuck there for about an hour or so, and when I got in touch with the lady at FL through the drivers phone she didn't seem interested in sorting out the mess she'd made.

Anyway, in the end what was meant to be a 30min jounrey took us 7hours, and cost us even more money as we then still had to pay for extra for our crossing. Apparently some people missed their flights due to the extra time spent at the border.

Finikas Lines need to have more than 1 staff member working in the office at times of departure, and need to communicate ANYTHING to their customers. In checking their social media after our journey they were still posting about their boat crossing and not responding to any comments about the boat cancellations.
In future I would try and use another company before I had to give my money to these again.

Another superb trip! We got picked up from our hotel and transferred to Corfu Port. Then we got the boat to Albania (Sarande), it’s a very quick boat so takes not time at all. Passport control was a bit of a nightmare but to be honest you can’t blame the supplier of the tour for this, it’s just one of those things!

Once in Sarande there’s a choice to get a tour or just roam around the town until the boat drops you off around 5-6 hours later. To be honest if you chose not to do the tour I think it could be a little boring as there isn’t loads to do and it was a very hot day when we went.

It wasn’t communicated very well by our hotel that we had to pay extra for this tour but it was worth every penny.

You get on a coach which takes you out of the town and on the way to Butrint. You get a great view of the town which is booming with tourism and then the drive to the park is superb! It’s not sold very well how nice a drive this is, you go past a superb salt lake which is huge and you get great views of the sea and the coast line.

Once at the National park you get a tour around the ruins which is very interesting indeed. There’s a walk up to a castle which provides superb views of the lakes and then it’s back to the coach.

On the way back to the town there’s a buffet lunch included on a rooftop of a hotel with views of the sea, basic food but for the price it’s superb value! Then before heading back ti the town the coach goes up to the top of a mountain and you get half an hour or so to take pictures of the town, lake and coastline, the views are absolutely incredible!

Then if there’s time you get a small tour of Sarande and some time to look about (as it happens our boat was delayed so we ran out of time at this point but in all honesty we had seen enough at this point and were happy to get back on the boat)!

Then a short boat trip back to Corfu and back to passport control! Then a transfer back to the hotel.

All in all a superb trip.

It didn’t get great reviews this tour and so we weren’t sure but I honestly don’t know why the reviews weren’t great. Albania was absolutely stunning, the boat trip was quick and the tour was superb! Really enjoyed it!

Fantastic services from all the staff at Finikas Lines. From the moment we arrived at check in to the second we departed. Great social distancing measures in place at the port and onboard. 100% recommend sailing with Finikas Lines and will be booking again in the near future. Thank you 😀

Albania excursion with Finikas Line, there are several tours available with several companies...

I will detail the essential points of invoicing for you to understand before departure. Finikas offers a return ticket from the port of Corfu to that of Saranda by boat, these two journeys cost around 45 euros. This price also includes transfer from your hotel or accommodation to Corfu port for departure.
Once on the boat you must pay 15 euros in cash for tax costs.
And you can also choose the day excursion, always with Finikas, to visit the site of Butrint (archaeological wonder) and the city of Saranda with a guide speaking your language. This excursion costs an additional 25 euros and always in cash.

This excursion includes pick-up from the port of Saranda to the site of Butrint, meal and visit to the city of Saranda (as well as its castle).

Concerning the content of the day, it is an intense discovery of the Butrint site with a guide (Quassim for our group) speaking excellent French, explanations of a very good level and a quite impressive mastery of his subject. A perfect guide who made us discover, over the course of a day, the issues facing Albania, past and present.
The booming city of Saranda is interesting to discover.
A magnificent day, full of culture and discoveries to be made without hesitation.

As a tour leader I have passed by Saranda, Albania many times with groups of travelers. Every group is different and the Finikas team has always helped me find the perfect activity for me and my groups, organizing pick ups, excursions, transfers to the ferry line and more.
Also our ferry rides to Corfu have run smoothly, very accommodating to changes and helping to solve any problem when needed.
I loved how with every trip I've discovered a new place around Saranda.

We took the "High Speed" ferry, which also carries cars. Allegedly the trip from Saranda to Corfu town takes 30 minutes, and the cost is correspondingly higher than the "slow ferries" which take 55 - 70 minutes. In reality this ferry took 50 minutes. The ferry also left 25 minutes late, because they had a mess loading the cars, and had to take one car off to make space for another.

Given that you will spend about 30 - 60 minutes with the boarding process, and another 30 minutes clearing customs in Corfu, the "high speed" aspect makes no real difference. Save your money and take the slower ferry!

We booked a boat from Corfu to Albania back in September at 11am but when we finally got to the dock at 10:50 the boat was already gone. When we asked a member of staff about why the boat left so early she responded with 'Everyone knows all our boats leave 10 mins early, the boats wait here an hour before departure' and told us we have to wait 2 hours for the next boat. Not only was she extremely rude but also laughed in our faces about the fact we were late?? Except we weren't late, we were actually there 20 minutes before the boat left but no-one told us to board the boat because all the workers were too busy chatting and laughing with each other. The best part was when the boat that was supposed to depart in 2 hours was half an hour late so we ended up waiting 2 hours 45 mins to leave. So not every boat leaves 10 minutes early does it? Not every boat docks an hour before departure? Perfect way to spoil a holiday and ruin your mood. I've been emailing them since September to get a refund for this as I don't think it's acceptable but I have had no response. I'd avoid them if I were you!
