縄文晩期の環状列石で、岩木山の麓にあり景色が良い。りんご畑の中を進んでいくと案内標識が現れ、細い道を行くと案内所がありましたが、休館で無人でした。他地域の環状列石に比べると見劣りがしますが、縄文時代末期は人口が減り、立派なものが作れなかったようです。縄文末期の寂しさを思わざるをえません。

世界遺産「北海道・北東北の縄文遺跡群」を構成する遺跡のひとつです。岩木山の山裾部分に位置し、周囲は自然に囲まれています。訪問時は整備工事が進んでいました。

岩木山神社から車で15分ほどの岩木山麓にあります。2021年7月28日に世界遺産の構成資産に登録されました。
私は2021年7月中旬に訪問しましたが、世界遺産に登録された時に備えて遺跡の見学コースを工事しているようでした。そのため見学コースの道は舗装されていませんでした。
遺跡のストーンサークルはそれと分かる様にありました。また背後に美しい岩木山がそびえており、よりパワースポットらしい眺めでした。
世界遺産の白神山地の暗門散策エリアからも車で40分ほどですので、1日に２つの世界遺産を巡られてはと思います。
