Kokura station is the 2nd biggest station in Kyushu. You will think that you are in Tokyo and not in kitakyushu if you visit this place, the station building are connected to AMU plaza and really close to major attraction like kokura castle complex etc

Since we took JR from Beppu to here, it was the first place we touch. We find there are hotel, restaurant and shops inside. JPY 100 shop inside.

Kokura station is an active local station, size is underestimated. From food stalls to large malls, nothing goes amiss. Pure active active station, for Japanese culture, you will need to travel afar. Easy access and convenience. Not designed for tourist but great urban exploration.

A place where it's easy to catch the train, bus, monorail and shinkansen while having sometime to eat at the nearby department stores. Various places to meet as well.

In this building, there are JR Kokura station ( local line and shinkansen line), mono- rail train station, restaurants, shopping mall. Also this building has a hotel, thus it is convenient when we arrive at Kokura station midnight.

A very interesting architectural form an a great access point for the castle and shopping mall Also don't miss the amazing bakery inside the station. You can tell the gate keeper you want to buy pastries and the will let you in without a ticket!
