Meoto Iwa , the married couple rocks is 2 rocks tied up according to some legend. The scenery of rocks around this part of peninsula is beautiful. There is a shrine and frogs seem to be the theme around. Sea, scenery, fresh air and sunshine...More

In addition to the Married Couple Rocks, several shrines in the nearby area have interesting stories and histories intertwined with mythology.

The religious rites and cultures associated with this place is significant. It is also a stunning view. There is also a shrine next to it. Getting there means walking through a tourist-oriented tourist complex. A little out of the way from the Ise Jingu area,...More

One of the most well-known images (and shrines) in Japan for the wedded rocks, it's definitely something you must see when you visit Ise. We went in the off season and it wasn't too crowded, but the evening light cast everything in shadow - the...More

If you decided to visit Ise holy region, then take time and see also Meotoiwa rocks near the shoreline. Easy access by bus. Izanami and Izanagi are symbols of male and female parts of nature. The rice rope between them changed twice a year.

If your way is near Meotoiwa, you should visit this place. Beautiful ocean view and interesting story of two rocks. You should park your car and walk about 500 meters to reach the place. You can combine with Ise tour instead of 1 day trip.

We stayed in Iseshi and travelling by train to see the wedded rocks was pretty straight forward. Once you get off the train station, walk straight, cross the road and you will see the signage to get to Meotoiwa. There is an info centre along...More

Lovely shrine. Not only the expected wedded rocks, which are beautiful under so many different angles, but this shrine is particularly big about its frogs. Resident kamis, these frogs will bring you luck if you take one home. All the frogs on this shrine are...More
