Kamakura Rickshaw Tour

The staff, with a rich knowledge of the city, will help make a special memory for your trip. We will take you to see interesting things you would not find in guidebooks or on websites. The rickshaw's speed is faster than walking but slower than cycling, which makes it a comfortable, wonderful ride. Enjoy Japanese history, traditions, and the seasonal beauties from a rickshaw with our staff's omotenashi (hospitality).

First time to see and ride on the suspended monorail, it’s fun as you can see the street down below. However, the ride is a bit bumpy, make sure to hold the handrail.

We travelled from Shinjuku station to Ofuna, the monorail was easy to find as well signposted. The automatic gates made it easy to pay by Suica. The monorail was immaculate with friendly staff, and gave a birds eye view of the area.

I've never been on a monorail with so many hills! The southern end of the line is particularly interesting as you dive down through a tunnel to arrive at the terminus. Sit/stand at the front to see the large point switches gliding into position for your train to enter the single line sections between stations.

An exciting ride between Ofuna Station and Enoshima. We were taken on an exciting journey up and over small mountains and valleys and the sea. Saw lots of greenery, nice views of the city.

I bought a combined ticket for the monorail and Enoden for just 700 yen and it allowed me unlimited rides on both for the day. I bought my ticket at the JR Ticket Office at Ofuna (not available through the Shonan ticket machine). It is an interesting monorail design (based on German Schwebebahn seen in Wupperthal and Dresden). I believe that the only one like it in Japan is the Chiba one near Narita.
