Amazing solo trip to Yamaguchi - Tsunoshima Bridge
Even though it was a weekday, there were quite a few people there. The weather was pretty good, so the bridge stretching out over the cobalt blue sea was beautiful. There was also an observation deck which was great. The view from the park on the other side was also nice. My car was my partner this time, a Fit. Recent compact cars are comfortable to ride and have good fuel economy of around 20km per liter, which is also good. Thank you very much.

When the weather's bad, it's just a bridge.
Unfortunately, the weather after the rain prevented me from seeing the blue sea of Tsunoshima. I wanted to swim in the sea, but I gave up because the weather was not good. I wanted to at least see the sea, but since it says the admission fee is 800 yen per person to go down to the sea, I could only do it from a distance. I want to go on a fine day next.

    It's a very nice view.
The long bridge, which stretches in a straight line into the cobalt blue sea, is very picturesque. However, the bridge is closed to traffic, and that's it across the bridge. According to the guide, the children of the island wrote postcards for 10 years asking them to build bridges. It took seven years to build the bridge, but the ironic result was that many families moved across the bridge, and the population was reduced.

On sunny days from spring to autumn, the sea looks emerald green.

Many people take photos of the sea and Tsunoshima Bridge.

The photo location is from the high ground behind the bridge.

Transportation is by car or motorcycle.

If you are going on a trip, rent a car or take a taxi from the nearest station.

After crossing the Tsunoshima Bridge, you will find a beach and shops selling souvenirs and food.

At the end, you will find Tsunoshima Lighthouse.

If it is summer, cross the Tsunoshima Bridge and there is a restaurant near the lighthouse where you can eat seafood and grilled seafood.

If you have come all the way to Sanin, I personally think it is better to eat seafood dishes.

If the weather is good, I hope you will see the emerald green sea and make good memories.

I live in the prefecture and have been to Tsunoshima many times, so I don't think the sea of Tsunoshima is that beautiful except on sunny days, but if you are traveling to Yamaguchi Prefecture, I would like you to visit Tsunoshima at least once.

Azure seas surround the bridge as you crass over to the island. White sand beaches and surfers in the early morning hours. passing a small island along the way that demonstrates the volcanic history of the area with stacks of columnar basalt.

scenery is great here, when the time is right you will see the bridge and the island with background of blue sky and blue ocean, when i came it is cloudy, (and become clear when i leaving) the draw back is access is not easy, i have to walk from 5 km from Awai station, because i miss to get off train in kottoi station ,but i realize if i did not miss my stop, i will not matter anyway, since bus service to get here start around 11, and i arrive at 10. many destination across the bridge, like a tsunoshima lighthouse, since the only way to accros the bridge is ridding vehicle , it is become difficult for hikers like me. imagine you ride the bus from kottoi station, get off in this viewpoint, waiting an hour for bus for crossing. it is not convinient at all.
one more thing , train in this line (from shimonosheki) not accept E money, so you have to purchase ticket .

The weather was good, and the blue sea and blue sky were amazing. It's a view that everyone should see at least once. However, I think the impression it gives is greatly affected by the weather. It was a one-night trip from Osaka, and I prepared a plan to visit on the first day and a plan to visit on the second day. In fact, the weather was bad on the first day, so planning two plans was a great success. One thing I regret is that I should have watched YouTube videos in moderation beforehand. I should have just looked up the best places to see the scenery on the web. Haha

The weather was good, so I was satisfied with the view. Although it was the end of the year holiday season, the number of visitors was moderate, so there was no problem finding a parking space in front of the bridge. I enjoyed taking photos with my family. I think it's a good place if you can choose the weather.

We recently crossed the bridge on a tour of the area. It is a a great sight when you first see it.
It must be a great asset to the area and the island. I could imagine it must have been hard in the past two cross by ferry especially in bad weather.
It has now become a tourist attraction itself.

If you see postcards or magazines of Yamaguchi, more then likely the Tsunoshima bridge will pop up. This bridge is absolutely incredible and the whole island is gorgeous. There is a large parking lot at the base of the bridge for photos and viewing the Sea. Mid way through the bridge is a small pull off area. The bridge is absolutely gorgeous with the turquoise waters. The island hosts many attractions including a lighthouse, shrines, beaches, and hiking. This place does get crowded during peak tourist seasons, so come prepared. If you are in Yamaguchi, this bridge and island are well worth a visit!

I visited by car on Sunday, August 27th.
The weather was fine, the sea was a sparkling emerald green, and the bridge that stretched straight over it was breathtakingly beautiful. I had previously visited the beautiful "Irabu Bridge" in Miyakojima, but this bridge was just as beautiful.

I think the best place to see the whole bridge is from the observation point just before crossing over to the island.

I cannot find proper word in order to express the beautiful view.
Blue sky, blue sea and white light house.
You can have good time in this island.
Because you can enjoy good sight and sea food.
I really recommend you to visit this island.
But this island has poor transport network.
I recommend you to prepare a rent a car or bicycle, too.

Whilst it may seem out of the way, have no doubt the drive in itself is just as enjoyable as the bridge.

With Motonosumi Inari Shrine only about half an hour away, along with a Roadside Station selling foods such as Yakitori, Grilled Squid, Takoyaki alongside standard souveniers and the region's local foods, you'd almost forget there was a bridge if the name wasn't printed everywhere.

There is parking before and after the bridge for people to take photos, alongside vending machines (Duh it's Japan), and some shops selling ice-creams and drinks. The drive itself is amazing, with the island that it leads to being equally as amazing. The bridge itself is a lot longer than you think, maybe taking about 5 minutes to cross from start to finish with various slopes and mini islands being passed.

Don't think I saw a single non-local tourist there, so if you want a unique experience, slightly off the beaten track, make sure you give this place a visit, especially the Roadside Station for food and gifts!
